Love is in the air with new Gameforge updates, limited time events and more!

Yes, the weather outside is still largely awful for most of us, but despite the gloom, players in the virtual worlds of Gameforge's games had their hearts well and truly warmed in February, with Valentine’s Day events, tantalizing updates on upcoming titles, and free major updates bringing surprise and delight to fans around the world. Let’s take a look at the highlights:

NosTale (PC)

Valentine’s Day and Lunar New Year – what a celebration!

Limited-time festivities attracted newcomers and veterans alike into the world of anime action MMORPG, NosTale. With numerous thieving creatures causing mischief in NosVille, players were tasked with retrieving the stolen items and exchanging them for seasonal companions, costumes, and themed collectibles. The celebrations also saw a free Battle Pass and redesigned seasonal character selection screen, with gameplay centered around cooperation, gifts, and shared progress.

AION Classic EU (PC)

Update 4.5 “Ignite” introduces the Phoenix Character Class

Fans of high-quality MMORPG action had plenty to be cheerful about in February, with Gameforge releasing the extensive free 4.5 “Ignite” update for AION Classic EU. Alongside other features, the brand-new Phoenix class made its way into the game, and is already proving to be a hit with the community. A fast-paced magical damage dealer designed for dynamic combat, the Phoenix excels with rapid-fire combos, area control, and explosive burst phases.

Elsewhere, an improved onboarding experience for newcomers and returning players has made jumping into the game easier than ever before, while the massive open-world region Terra Teva introduces monster taming, rotating anomalies, and hidden islands to the much-loved game.

Under a Rock (PC, consoles)

Developer Update Sheds new Light on Anticipated Open-World Survival Adventure

The developers at Nordic Trolls recently celebrated passing 450,000 wishlists across digital platforms with an extensive development update for the upcoming open-world spectacle, Under a Rock. Over the past few months, the team has been focusing on the gameplay foundations and interlinking core systems — from the procedurally generated world and exploration-driven progression, to base building, research, combat, animations and dynamic environmental hazards.

Cave and underwater biomes have been significantly expanded, the blueprint system for base building is now fully integrated, and initial cataloging and research mechanics ensure that discoveries are rewarded in the long term. Meanwhile, the combat system has been made more responsive and the (already lovely) visuals even further refined.

BiteFight (PC)

Path to Ancestry

Since February 11, all players from level 50 onward have been treated to new endgame content in BiteFight, thanks to the “Path to Ancestry” update. With Ascension, players can become an Elder Vampire or Alpha Werewolf and gain access to a sanctuary, where strategic army building takes center stage in place of individual duels. Through Manhunts, players collect a new resource called Blood Essence, which is used to recruit units and expand their forces.

In the Crimson Sanctum, players can build their army in The Nourishing Pits and explore the more than 100-level-deep Ancestral Ruins, featuring increasingly stronger enemies, valuable loot, and unique equipment. Battles run automatically, but require the right troop composition, as losses must be replaced. Even in defeat, players receive partial experience, while successful expeditions yield gold and loot. A faction change after Ascension is possible, but it results in the loss of all current units.

4Story (PC)

Love in Times of War

Despite the ongoing conflict between Derion and Valorian, love was the presiding theme in 4Story as well. In February, players not only enjoyed new activities as love messengers, but also benefited from massively increased experience points and boosted drops of magical items and gold. Greatly improved success rates for gemstone upgrades and refinements were another highlight of the festivities, which concluded in grand fashion on February 25.
