Helix: Descent N Ascent Weaves Its Light vs Dark DNA into a New Demo Launch Trailer

The atmospheric puzzle adventure launched its first public demo and will be participating in Steam Next Fest February 2026.

11 FEBRUARY 2026 - Belgian indie game studio Badass Mongoose just pressed the big green "launch demo" button in Steam, for their atmospheric puzzle-adventure Helix: Descent N Ascent. It will participate in the February edition of Steam Next Fest, from 23 February to 2 March.

The demo offers a first hands-on with the black & white puzzle adventure, with about 30 minutes of gameplay and three abilities for players to apply in brain-teasing exploration and puzzle-solving, while your dark counterpart seems to sabotage your every move. ​

Helix: Descent N Ascent has a monochrome artstyle that draws inspiration from 1980s black-and-white indie comics, 1990s manga, and 1970s Franco-Belgian comics. With atmospheric music by Jim Guthrie (Sword and Sorcery, Nobody Saves The World and Below) added into the mix, it makes for an artistic journey to remember!
