This game reminds me of Rune in a couple of ways. Some of it\'s key features include destroying your surroundings, and hacking up enemies and using their own body parts against them. Another great feature is the variety of combat moves you can use. There are many combinations you can use, so try to find out as many as you can. It will be worth your while. In the full game there are four characters to choose from; A knight, a barbarian, a dwarf, and a rogue. All have their own unique abilities. In the demo you get to be the knight Sargon.
The story in the demo is that you are locked in a dungeon and have to defeat the dungeon keeper Ragnar. (He\'s tough) The story of the whole game is more complex. Here it is in a nutshell. The prince of Darkness made a creation that created some monsters that the Lord and the prince could not completely undo. These creatures are now tormenting mankind. Guess who gets to stop this?
From a Christian standpoint, this game can be very violent. Lots of gore, blood squirting, hacking and slashing. But here\'s the good news: You can disable this! There is a parental lock, I thought this was very cool. A couple complaints include, some of the creatures are dark like demons, skeletons etc. Finally, it\'s a little disappointing that they portray God being weak and a human has to help him.
The game was easy to install. The graphics were great, nice reflections and shadows. The music was fitting and the sound effects were good too. Lots of grunts when jumping and attacking. The interface was awkward, you do get the arrow keys and mouse controls. (I changed mine to use WASD instead.) The weird part was attacking enemies. You had to \'lock on\' to them. If you do not, you don\'t have much control of the camera/attack angle. This can be very frustrating at times, especially in the final battle in the demo. Also, you can not save you games in the demo. :( The game is not designed for Windows 2000, but it will run. There is a patch for the final. The final also has a multiplayer mode. If you don\'t mind the control setting, the game play and everything else make this game a great buy. The trouble is, I don\'t know where you can get this game. It\'s very hard to find.
