February 19th, 2026 - Today, developer WoodRunner Games, based in Québec, Canada, is thrilled to present Croak, a beautifully hand-drawn, action-adventure 2D platformer pairing bouncy gameplay with playful whimsy. Together with a new trailer and PC demo, released especially for the Quebec Steam Sale Event, Croak follows a frog prince on his adventure through the Feast Fair, a strange carnival hosted by the kingdom’s witch. This slick, fast-paced, meticulously crafted game is animated by the celebrated talents that previously worked on Cuphead.
Step into the webbed feet of Croak’s most daring and (unexpectedly) agile frog, and leap into action with nothing but royal resolve (and an astonishingly handy tongue). Venture through blooming swamps, scenic landscapes, and obscure locations, with quirky and eccentric encounters.

Croak will feature over 1,000 rooms across diverse biomes, packed with environment-centered mechanics and escalating difficulty. The game includes main levels with achievements and boss encounters, plus unlockable optional high-challenge levels designed to test limits. Achievements reward exploration and strategy — from collecting hidden coins to using speed techniques and shortcuts to clear levels within certain time frames; this mastery-focused design gives players strong replayability as they improve and progress.
Boop the Boss!
Croak throws you into energetic, over-the-top boss battles, from a beaver performing flips on a BMX (sometimes unsuccessfully) to an illusionist bat pulling magic tricks, you will surely be making use of your tongue-grappling skills to dodge, boop, and defeat those who stand in your way!
