RetroStyle Games, the studio behind the original Ocean Keeper, presents Ocean Keeper: Co-op, a new four-player cooperative roguelike set in the mysterious depths of the ocean. The game combines team-based resource mining, wave defense, and card-driven progression, and its first public demo is now available as part of Steam Next Fest (October 13–20).

About the Game
Ocean Keeper: Co-op continues the universe of Ocean Keeper 1.0, moving the action to the ocean floor – a place of ancient wrecks, anomalies, and bizarre deep-sea creatures.
Each run follows a dynamic cycle: dig, haul, upgrade, defend, and repeat.

Players form squads of up to four Keepers and choose their roles:

Miner – breaks through cave walls and uncovers valuable ores using tools like the Glove, Drill, or Laser.
Courier – transports resources to the surface Mech and coordinates supply routes under time pressure.

Collected resources increase the team’s shared experience level, unlocking card drafts that grant new buffs, shields, nukes, or weapon upgrades. Every choice affects the team’s strategy for the next wave of enemies.
The deeper the players go, the tougher the challenges: puzzles, shifting cave structures, and anomalies such as fog that alters movement or portals that teleport entire loads of ore. Cooperation and timing are key – surviving alone is nearly impossible.

Key Features
Cooperative roguelike gameplay for 1–4 players focused on teamwork and quick decision-making.
Dynamic cave exploration with puzzles, anomalies, and procedurally generated layouts.
Wave-based defense where players must protect the Mech from relentless enemies and bosses.
Card-driven progression that rewards strategy and communication.
Distinct combat styles – choose weapons for close-, mid-, or long-range defense.
Built-in voice chat and public matchmaking to connect teams worldwide.

The development team at RetroStyle Games hosts weekly community playtests on Discord and Steam, inviting players to share feedback, suggest balance changes, and take part in experimental builds. These sessions have become a cornerstone of the project’s development, directly influencing updates and new content.
