ALRUNA: END OF HISTORY Indie Puzzle Metroidvania Demo Available on Steam

Göteborg, Sweden – October 9, 2025 – Swedish solo-developer Niklas Hallin is announcing their pixel-art puzzle-platformer Alruna: End of History, the second game in the Alruna series. A gameplay evolution, but not a direct story sequel. The Necro-Industrialists still grip the world, and flower-nymph Alruna must jump, slide and dash through rotting cathedrals in her search for salvation – for herself and others.

“It’s in widescreen now!” says developer Niklas Hallin. “And you can shoot! I had all these divergent paths from the first game, big choices I saved for a sequel. And here we are now. I have to keep making Alruna games, because I have hundreds of new ideas, and here’s a game where they can all fit in. I guess this is the kind of game you make if you play a lot of Link's Awakening!”

A demo of Alruna: End of History is available on Steam, with a starting area, the whole first temple and one boss.

Alruna, sweet Alruna, can you feel the emptiness? What little remains of the material world has long since been hollowed out by the Necro-Industrialists. But listen, Alruna, there's another dryad, so very much like you. She is Divinity's Creature, she is Heaven's Gate. Torment is her lot, Alruna. Will you be her savior? Or will you let her go?

Life is suffering, but suffering brings salvation.
Beyond the End of History lies the promise of Elysium.

About Burning Planet
ALRUNA's heavy 8-bit soundtrack is provided by Burning Planet. What began as "Burning Planet Music" in 2015, a music production company for games, has now expanded into an in-your-face, punk driven game publisher – "Burning Planet Digital". As a publisher, we approach an indie game as if it was a band.
