Remix Manga to Let Fisticuffs Fly in “The Fable,” Steam Next Fest Demo Launches Oct. 9
The Fable:Manga Build Roguelike, the turn-based deckbuilder developed by MONO ENTERTAINMENT and published by Kodansha, spills ink and blood in a fresh take on the hit manga in a new demo coming to PC via Steam on Thursday, Oct. 9th. The full launch will follow on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025.
Can a Hitman Survive without Killing?
Akira Sato, a mild-mannered, genius hitman known as “Fable” and feared by the Japanese underworld, has to abstain from violence for an entire year.
In the Steam Next Fest demo, rearrange manga scenes to fight criminals across the first three chapters. Employ non-lethal combat methods by placing action panels with various Attack, Defense, and Move properties onto blank pages like playing cards, then watch stylish battles unfold in turn-based tactical brawls.
With limited time, wasted movements can be the difference between life and death — subdue underlings with precision in Challenge Mode, where Akira and his crew only have a single manga page to eliminate each pesky mafia member.
At launch, mix up battle strategies with the addition of both Yoko’s sneak attacks and Suzuki’s traps and inflict debuffs, and clean up the streets of Japan with multiple difficulty levels.
Manga Build Roguelike merges authentic, hand-drawn illustrations from the manga that circulated more than 28 million copies with punchy, retro pixel art action. Earn additional cards by completing minigames based on the original manga.
The Steam Next Fest demo for The Fable:Manga Build Roguelike will be available on Thursday, Oct. 9th, 2025. The full game arrives on PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, with English and Japanese language options.
