“THE MUMMY” CAST REUNITES AT FAN EXPO CHICAGO
Patricia Velásquez, John Hannah, Oded Fehr Join Brendan Fraser at Pop Culture’s Biggest Celebration, August 15 - 17
Chicago, Illinois (June 26, 2025) – The cast of 1999’s pop culture blockbuster series THE MUMMY reunite at FAN EXPO Chicago, running August 15 - 17, 2025 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont. Stars Patricia Velásquez, John Hannah, and Oded Fehr join previously announced Oscar-winning superstar Brendan Fraser as they unwrap the history and mysteries of the fan favorite films with a panel discussion, photo ops, and autograph sessions at Chicago’s longest-running pop culture and comic celebration.
Venezuelan actress, model, and philanthropist Patricia Velásquez is best known for her portrayal of Anck-su-namun in THE MUMMY and THE MUMMY RETURNS. She has walked the runway in shows for designers including Chanel, John Galliano, Dolce & Gabbana, Chloé, and more. On television, she has been seen on THE L WORD; had a recurring role as Gob Bluth’s girlfriend Marta on ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT; and a recurring role on RESCUE ME. In 2002, she founded The Wayùu Taya Foundation, dedicated to improving the living conditions of indigenous communities in Venezuela.
John Hannah, who portrayed Jonathan in THE MUMMY films, first came to prominence with his role in FOUR WEDDINGS AND A FUNERAL, for which he was nominated for a BAFTA for Best Actor in a Supporting Role. He has also been seen on screen in SLIDING DOORS and THE HURRICANE. Since 2019, he has narrated the BBC reality competition series RACE ACROSS THE WORLD, where teams travel around the world.
Oded Fehr, who appeared as Ardeth Bay in THE MUMMY and THE MUMMY RETURNS, has most recently been seen as Fleet Admiral Vance on STAR TREK: DISCOVERY. He is well known for roles in the RESIDENT EVIL film series, and has had comedic roles in DEUCE BIGALOW: MALE GIGOLO and its sequel. His television appearances include Showtime series SLEEPER CELL, COVERT AFFAIRS, NCIS, and CHARMED.
The trio of new guests join Oscar-winning international superstar Brendan Fraser, whose dual 1992 roles in comedy ENCINO MAN and drama SCHOOL TIES announced him as a serious talent. Starring roles in comedies WITH HONORS and GEORGE OF THE JUNGLE proved his star power, which was cemented with his role as Rick O’Connell in THE MUMMY trilogy. His dramatic roles in such films as GODS AND MONSTERS, THE QUIET AMERICAN, and CRASH continued to earn notice from critics and audiences alike. In recent years, his film career has been revitalized with roles in Steven Soderbergh’s NO SUDDEN MOVE and Darren Aronofsky’s THE WHALE, for which he won an Academy Award for Best Actor.
