So... those of us who have seen their work will certainly have a favorite. For me, it is none other then Spirited Away, but Kiki's Delivery Service is a close second.

My Neighbor Totoro is definitely a favorite around my house. My wife even uses a Totoro icon for her Skype avatar.
We also enjoyed Kiki's Delivery Service and The Secret World of Arrietti. Others were met with mixed reactions (e.g. I enjoyed Howl's Moving Castle more than others), and none of the kids have seen Mononoke yet, for reasons that should be obvious to anyone who has seen that film....

With that said, yes, I completely understand what you mean. And also, I have secret world of arriete and it was indeed a good movie. What I liked more about Spirited Away, was that guy who created the movie based the people and place on those that he had encountered in real life. But funny story though, I was watching Spirited Away with a friend, and he had thought that the dad sounded american because of the 4WD reference. He learned that the japanese are as reliant on it as we are. :p

I like most of Studio Ghibli's movies, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be Spirited Away. It's one of my favorite movies to watch. I have the DVD for it, and I've watched it at least four times.
