You'd be in luck here, then. Alaska is the only state that has Idaho beat in terms of land that has been declared to be state and national parks (that actually can be a political sticking point around here, but we'll gloss over that for now). Here's a link to hiking opportunities around the state, including maps.

And there really is nothing like a good hike, is there? When my wife and I first moved to Idaho, there was a canyon near the farmhouse where we were living that had a spectacular view. There's just something about standing on the edge of a deep ravine, looking down at all the trees, and seeing a bald eagle flying below you. That's one of the things I miss about moving away from that place - the scenery.

I think that's one of the main reasons I'd like to learn how to cross-country ski - I could use that as a way to "hike" during the winter months!

I'm hoping arcades will become like the coffee shop for gamers. Someplace you go for the bleeps, or for oddball games you can't get at home. At the same time, I'm not one to put five bucks into a machine when I can purchase an entire game for free. I dunno.

Would you consider coughing up a lung, loss of voice, and explosive diarrhea a valid reason for calling in sick to work?

The problem I see with this theory lies in the nature of the games themselves. Games are not exactly a socialization tool, with the exception of MMOs (either RPGs or FPS), and those types of games are not generally ones you'd find in arcades, anyway. It's one thing to sit around a table, sipping coffee and discussing business. It's quite another to be concentrating on the next target, or lining up those squares, or choosing the right answer in a dating sim, while trying to carry on conversations with live people at the same time.

I'm not saying it's a terrible idea, I just don't know how well it would work.

Also keep in mind that I don't frequent coffee shops. So it's entirely possible - even likely - that your analogy was lost on me.

Yes. The only exception I could see would be "loss of voice," but if you're working in customer service or answering phone calls all day, then definitely.

And if you've got all three symptoms, then most definitely don't go to work!

I haven't been to a coffee shop in a long time. I want to say years, except I went in to buy something for someone else once. I drink tea. And soda. Ao to be honest, I'm not sure why I even made that analogy. I just like arcades.

Difficult tasks?

Yeah, sometimes you can try to make an analogy, then realize that it makes no sense. I've been there, man.

Depending on the situation, it can be challenging yet rewarding at the same time. Like trying to force-feed Jell-o to a snake.

Can be quite tiring. Then again, I just got back from visiting my parents. Long drives make me tired....

I'm not sure why precious stones in a game would bother me.

So out of the options, I suppose I would say "alien invasions in real life," although my reaction might be more along the lines of "cool! Take me with you!"

I only steal the nutty ones from my kids. Since they shouldn't have peanuts or red dye. I'm doing them a favor, really....

I believe it. I really do.

Why does stuff, stuff? And why do people, people?

But stuff doesn't stuff on it's own. You need stuff to stuff the stuff into the stuff. Otherwise the stuff just stuffs stuff. And then nothing gets done.

As for the "people" question, the only thing I can say is that it's because people are idiots. It's best to avoid them whenever possible.

I'ma disagree. Sometimes, stuff does stuff entirely by itself. I guess you could blame gravity, but technically that's stuff too.

Sometimes, you love someone so much, you just want to punch them in spleen?
