I've never used that service. Or any layaway service, actually. Do you recommend it?Chozon1 wrote: Wal Mart's Layaway?

We use it pretty frequently. I've never had an issue with it, personally. It's like taking out an interest-free credit program. We grabbed a PC that way last year. So, though I haven't gotten my stuff out yet, I'd recommend it if you have high cost items you'd like to pay off in bite sized amounts.

Great movie - one of Hitchcock's best! Or are you referring to the U2 song?Chozon1 wrote: Vertigo?
For starters, do you know what you want to write about? Now is a good time to brainstorm some plots or story elements that you want to focus on. Go ahead and jot down whatever comes to mind - no matter how ridiculous it might seem. It could come in handy later. One thing that I'm also going to try this year is to write up brief bios of the main characters in my story. I want to have them as handy reference sheets so I can remember who likes what, in order to avoid them slipping out of character during the first edit. It'll save time when it comes to the rewrites.Deepfreeze32 wrote:Seconded, as someone who wants to try their hand at it this year.ArchAngel wrote:Any advice or suggestions for NaNoWriMo preparation?
I have yet to figure out a way to split time. Although I think cloning myself might be a good way to start....Emwok wrote:Time Splitters?

That's great! I know some people have no problems with jumping right in and writing away with whatever comes to mind. I prefer to have a bit more of a gameplan when I first start out. That doesn't mean I'm going to stick with the plan, though, but I find it helps to have an idea to at least get the ball rolling.ArchAngel wrote:Cool, I'm starting to sort out what I want to write about.

Ugh, do I have to think about big cities? I really can't stand them. Too many people and too many cars and way too many idiot drivers. I absolutely despise visiting Seattle because of the traffic and the narrow roads, and any city larger than that would be a scene from my worst nightmares. No, give me country living any day.ScotchRobbins wrote:Thoughts on the big city?
