And the same for Clones, or parallel realities?
Well, let's take a look at the Latin root, shall we? (Disclaimer: This is by no means declaring that I can speak or understand Latin, or indeed any foreign language; I can understand some German, and speak even less of it, because I'm awesome that way. Also... this is seriously the Latin root.) The Latin for oneself is "sui," and the English suffix for killing is "-cide." Basically... since you said, "an alternate timeline version of yourself," and the word "sui" refers to oneself... then yes, absolutely, you're killing yourself. I'd say avoid killing all other parallel versions of yourself. The One isn't as cracked up as you'd think it is.

Um... well... I have no idea. I get on occasionally. But maybe people have other things to do, or they're afraid of security issues, or something.

Since I'm terrible at math (boo, math!), I went to Wikipedia, the cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems.
The great Wiki says that the square root of 5 is an irrational algebraic number. And I have no idea what that means. It further says that the first sixty digits can be rounded down to 2.236 within 99.99% accuracy. And further that the number appears to be in the formula for the Golden Ratio, and can also be expressed as a continued fraction. There's tons more, but my brain skipped a beat and I started drooling with a vacant expression in my eyes after the 99.99% accuracy thing. At least, I think there was a vacant expression in my eyes.
So the answer to your question is that no one knows, Wikipedia might just be causing the recession, and that researching too much into math gives you what the Jewish call the real name of God. Which is interesting.
