Yeah. I ran into a few demons earlier...it ended with everyone dead'd within two turns. O_o Though handily, I've already given my tank a point in magic usage just in case I came upon an enemy that melee weapons didn't hurt. I also buffed my rogue with healing magics, and haven't regretted it.
I am intrigued by the concept of three main quests...I had heard of it, and I just realized that technically, I have the lead on one where I fight the Empire. Which is OK with me, as they are chumps. >_> I also ran into a large group of Slithzerikai...which ended in Adventure-party BBQ. -_-
There's something terrifying in knowing your enemy wants to hunt you down to eat you?

That would be Ralph and his lieutenants. I miss those guys....
The sliths tend to be more of a midgame enemy. Better to avoid them for now.

It can be comforting knowing that you can do the same thing to them. It's one of the things I got a real kick out of with the original Everquest - pretty much everything that wasn't undead had a chance of dropping some form of meat. Which there was a recipe for.
Even the player races. And since some of the cooked foods provided stat bonuses for a time.... I think it's the only MMORPG I've seen where cannibalism was encouraged. I remember handing out gnome kabobs to other players in the Nexus... while playing a gnome. Creepy fun.

I'd just leave it at creepy. O_o
I can actually handle small groups sliths. Maybe...5 or so, and not the warriors or shamans. So I guess technically, I can't handle them. XD At the moment, I'm trying to clear a pit of undead. Going alright until the big ones showed up.
Storming a starship without decompressing it?

The Spiral Pit, outside of Mertis? Wait until the lights go out....

Surprisingly easy to do. Drop their shields and beam over a raiding party. Or even better, use a tractor beam to pull it into your shuttle bay, if you're much larger than the other ship.

Oh the lights...that happened. XD Man, did that happen...I actually made it all the way to the bottom (using tactics that some would call questionable. >_>) before I found out just how seriously outmatched I was. O_o Commander Ghostman? He ain't no joke. XD
Dragons?

Dragons?
Yes, those are in the game, too.
If you're asking about them in general, I do like them. And not just because they're big, scaly reptiles. They make a fun, intimidating foe to throw at an unsuspecting adventuring party, too.

I wish dragons were still alive. But then, maybe I don't.
Leveling up in a hardcore zone, then going back to where you're supposed to and wrecking face?

I've done that many times, and not just in RPGs. I still remember blitzing through some of the early levels in various Mega Man X games with all the power-ups from other Mavericks, or racing through Super Mario Kart on the easiest levels with the self-imposed challenge of gathering and keeping 30 coins throughout the match. (On one course, I made an additional challenge - lap the person in
second place. I managed to do it once, too!) So yes, there can be certainly something satisfying in a curbstomp battle, especially when you're doing the stomping.
And yes, I've done that in the Exile games, too. These were the precursors to the Avernum series... do you remember the bandit fort, in the starting area? In the Exile games, monsters had a way of completely repopulating some areas after a time. So when one of my characters was close to leveling (say by two or three experience points), I'd send my party into that fort, go into combat mode, and send one of my characters into it alone. Even my mage. It's rather amusing to have your party's mage dash through a fort and slaughter everything in there... armed with only a dagger and not casting any spells! And winning!

Nice. XD That's what happened with me, sort of. I was traversing the harder areas, and apparently (though I thought I was whiffing everything) leveled up enough to be crazy strong when I went back to where I was supposed to be; I blew through a huge Nephilim fort (making myself filthy rich in the process. >_>) and a few crypts without even trying. XD
Then the Aranea attacked. And I had a fight on my hands again.
Friendly giant spiders are still giant spiders? O_o

Indeed. The GIFTS (Giant, Intelligent, Friendly Talking Spiders) seem to be a running gag, as they appear in every Avernum game, often in a rather obscure location. And, of course, there's usually one that you have to talk to in order to get and/or finish a quest....
At least you can probably guess that spider's name.

Let's talk music. What have you been listening to lately, and how do you like Twin Peaks?

I listen to whatever comes up on my iPod.

New music that I've added somewhat recently has been Everclear's greatest hits and Of Monsters and Men. But I also enjoy the Killers and Midnight Oil that tends to come up as well. I'm planning on getting TFK's new album in a while, though.
As for Twin Peaks, I admit that I've never seen the show. I've heard that it can be pretty good, but confusing.

Hee hee, I didn't know there was a band called Twin Peaks!
I wonder if they named themselves after the show...?

From what I've read, they picked the name because it just because it sounded cool, completely unaware of the show.
