I got home today at 5:30. Man, I was tired. Long day at work, we did a ton of stuff(well, some of us... )...

and the first thing Mom says is...
"Hi Laz. There's some work we want you to do..."
As my brain wearily struggled to comprehend this, Dad said, "Let him eat supper first, for Pete's sake."

Thanks Dad...
so I'm eating...
And Dad's like, "We gotta dig a forty-foot trench by my office."
As I absorbed this startling news, he went on.. "starting today."

My brother then asked, "When are we going?"
I believe the expression of slack-jawed disbelief on my face slowed Dad's answer...

anyway, in a brilliant flash of insight, Dad realized I was bone-weary.
So he said, "But if you're tired you don't have to help."
No really, I'd love to go down there and work my tail off for another three hours... Let's go! Hooah!



But I elected to stay behind...
As my brother went out the door he says, "Lazy bum" to me, btw.
Yeah. Right. And he's been playing computer games the whole day.
