How come WE HAZ NO PICS OF DIS GOPHER!? PLEEEEEEAAAAAAAASE???
Aaaaand yeah, a bigger snake could very easily make a meal out of a cat. XD
Maybe try a ball python? They're a pretty easy snake to care for, and while I won't call them a great "first snake" (many people say they're as good if not better than a corn for a first; I don't agree)... they're pretty easy going. They're not insanely massive like a retic, burmese or even a RTB. They grow to an average size of 4 feet, some a bit bigger some a bit smaller. But they're a heavy bodied snake, greatly different than a gopher or king/corn.
A ball was my first snake, and while I won't say it was the easiest snake I've ever cared for (that goes to a corn snake), it certainly wasn't the hardest. Lived a few years with me and was extremely healthy (had to give him away because of financial reasons, though

).
Anyway, I go on for too long about snakes. As I'm sure Chozon could attest too. <_<
What's your gopher's name?
I'll try to get some pictures of mah snake soon... hopefully.
And, I'll have to keep the ball python in mind... maybe once I get a job I can get one. I love to have another snake.
It doesn't bother me at all that you talk so much about snakes... I've probably learned more from your posts than I have anywhere else.
And its (dunno what its sex is) name is Jasper. It was the first name I thought of, and it stuck, so...

I'd love to see it.
Yeah, if you've had successful experience keeping a snake already you should have no problem with a ball. They're fantastic snakes, not super huge that it'll kill you and not super small. They can, however, be picky eaters. Especially when it comes to getting them on f/t. They have a thing for going on fasts for several months, which is perfectly normal for them... just... you gotta remember that. XD
And... you flatter me. <_<
Jasper. Cool name. It could work for either a male or female, really. ^_^
Hmm.
What should I name the new RTB (female)? I'm honestly not one to name pets that well (my 7-ish foot boa is Bowz, my corn is Baby Corn... kinda because for so long I had just the corn and boa, and next to the boa the corn is a baby), but I figured... ask around, get some ideas.
I may start a thread with a poll once I get some. XD

Hmm... that's just it. I haz no clue. XD
As you can see from my very original names (bowz and baby) I'm... not really an expert at naming.
Just kinda looking for suggestions.
But I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought of naming my new RTB after a character from Buffy, Lord of the Rings or Angel. <_<
How long is your snake?

How about Anna, Raquel, Jayci... or something like that?
And... I would guess somewhere around two and a half feet.
