I love that show. <3 That's part of the reason I like Avengers: Assemble so much, since it's a much lighter take on the Avengers.
We've actually had a very cool summer this year, with June being very wet, and July being almost cold ("almost cold" meaning in the low 60's at night, and low 80's during the day. Downright freezing for summer time). And then August hit, and it's like soup outside.
Projectors?
Go ask the lizard-guy something....

Looks interesting. I'll have to take a look later.Emwok wrote:Minute physics?

Summers are similar here, but usually without the same degree of humidity. Lows in the 50s, highs can creep into the 90s and even 100s.Chozon1 wrote: We've actually had a very cool summer this year, with June being very wet, and July being almost cold ("almost cold" meaning in the low 60's at night, and low 80's during the day. They are very projecting! If I ever build a gaming room, I've got plans for two of them - one mounted in the ceiling to project downward onto a gaming table; and one pointed at a white wall for a full-bodied Wii experience.Chozon1 wrote:Projectors?

I think it would be fun for games. Especially FPS games. Because (at least if you got a good projector) a 12 foot viewscreen? glorious.

I've seen setups like that, and it is great! Especially if the screen - actually, more of a wall - is slightly curves along the edges to give it a bit more illusion of actual depth. Some ambient lighting that automatically adjusts to the primary hues being projected is a great touch, too.Chozon1 wrote:I think it would be fun for games. Especially FPS games. Yes, I've given some thought to this setup.

I've always wanted to set up an outdoor movie theater with a projector. It has many inherent problems, but I think that, some tiki torches, and about fifty pounds of snacks and soda? Best summer night ever.

Why not? After all, studies have shown that 47% of statistics are made up on the spot.Chozon1 wrote: Arbitrary numbers?

I honestly wonder how true that is. I've done it before, if only in jest. It's surprising how much people will believe it though. O_o

Approximately 55% of people will believe a made-up statistical fact without checking the veracity. It's true!Chozon1 wrote:I honestly wonder how true that is. I've done it before, if only in jest. It's surprising how much people will believe it though. O_o

Just like fresh Kool-Aid - probably loaded with artificial colors. You're better off with fruit juice or milk.Chozon1 wrote:Grody old Kool-aid?

That is very easy to do. Rockets can't fire or burn underwater. So they'll just kind of sit there, maybe drifting aimlessly. They make very easy targets after that.Chozon1 wrote:Shooting fiery rockets under water?

I disagree. Talking fireworks (as opposed to real rockets...you're probably right there...need to try it...), if you light them above water, rockets can and do ignite and fire underwater. It's really fun, actually. Because they make nice "shoop" noises, with a "k-thunk" "doop" if they hit something. Try it sometime, since most people believe the rocket will go out. Just uh...watch out for ricochets.

Ah, but you were asking about shooting rockets. I just misinterpreted your sentence.Chozon1 wrote:I disagree. Actually, they are a key element to strategy in many games, like billiards, pinball and Breakout clones. If you try to avoid ricochets because of some morbid fear that the sun will go out, you'll find your performance sorely lacking in these types of games.Chozon1 wrote:Ricochets are a superstition?

That is because its black powder both in the fuse and in the rocket, who consists of Sodium Nitrate, Sulphur and Charcoal, eventualla Sodium perchlorate instead of black powder.
It Carries it own oxygen, and gives off more heat than the water can transfer away. So gunpowder will keep on burning in water.
Luckily this is an English stie, i couldnt have posted it on a Norwegian christian site, because theyr swearing a lot
