Oblivious of the Greco-Roman influences on the art and design of the room, Sam moved on. The place was dark and echoed, and although she might well have loved it in the light and relative safety of the day, she could not say the same for the current circumstances. Further, she felt that eyes were upon her. What could she do? What should she do? Her heart beat quickly, sweat glistened in the low light of the moon, and she moved on. The next room seemed vacuous, overly spacious. She got the feeling that the ceiling was high overhead, though she couldn't tell why, exactly. It was just one of those feelings. This room was different in another way, too. It smelled old. Sam couldn't quite place the smell. It wasn't quite dust, nor was it quite aging books. But the smell was old and it tickled her nose. She had to stifle a sneeze, but no, oh man, oh man, it wasn't working, and here it was coming, and... the sneeze exploded out of her nose, shuddering through her in that certain way that only unwanted sneezes can and will do.

You were telling him about Buddha, you were telling him about Mohammed in the same breath. You never mentioned one time the Man who came and died a criminal’s death...

Well.
I walked home from work today. In this cold, wintry weather.
Because my mother was talking to her sister on the phone when I called to ask for a ride.
