I've heard of it, but never played it. However, I've been kicking around the idea of writing a novel where a captain is ordered to find the edge of the universe, just to get him out of the way. Of what, I'm not sure - it's still an idea that's being formed....

I think it's a really fun idea! That there may be numerous parallel universes out there is a very cool concept.

I had one idea for a story that involved these based around the idea that each decision that we make has the potential to spin off a different parallel universe. But I haven't decided what to do with the concept (e.g. make it into a larger story) so it's just been filed away in the back of my head for now.

So it's like a big touchscreen that plays music based upon how a variety of shaped blocks are placed on it? It's an interesting concept, but I'm not terribly impressed.

Now if it could be configured to adapt to a variety of games, that would be pretty cool. For example, tap a menu to convert it into a chess board, or backgammon. You could even have advanced settings in order to play tabletop games on it, like D&D or Shadowrun. Something like that would impress me....

I've found something close - someone mounted an LCD projector to the ceiling to project down onto a table. They could then hook up their laptop and project down the game board onto the table. With D&D, they used Photoshop to remove different parts of the map (using transparency layers) as the players made their way through the dungeon. If I ever had a game room, I'd want a set-up like that myself.

I have a particular fondness for muenster. Although in our cheese experiment this past year, we also had a Wensleydale that was blended with cranberries and (I think) cinnamon. That one was very tasty, but not really one that you could use for cooking, for obvious reasons. I dont think it was this exact one, but you'll get the idea.

It was a cool setup. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find the Web site where the guy put it together now. I thought I had linked it over to ArcticFox, and for some reason I've never bookmarked it. Next time I find it I really need to do that....

What are your thoughts on Limburger?

It's been a long time since I've tried it, but I seem to recall it being a bit too potent for my tastes at the time. Of course, my tastes have changed over time, too - I used to hate spicy foods, but any more I've been leaning towards more of the spice than milder options. I'm not completely gung-ho about it - I'm not going to start eating jalapeño poppers at this point - but I'm more willing to give spicier foods a try than I used to be.
