I took two months of poetry class, a poem doesn't have to rhyme, (though most do, but not w/ end rhyme, they use internal rhyme schemes and such) A poem is merely a form of writing in which the author has control over the line; that is the basis of what poetry is. Imagery, symbolism, and other such stuff are also important partsLazarus wrote:A poem that does not rhyme is not a poem. Take it from someone who just looked up the definition five seconds ago.
Edit: Not bad CK, and not utilizing end rhyming isn't neccesarily a new thing, though free verse is more of a modern development.
