Yeah, I had a fight end poorly in this game I've been playing (Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner) where a boss inflicted confuse, and hit everyone. Wham, bam, thank you ma'am, my party killed each other before the sole survivor got smoked by the enemy on their turn. That was suck.
Enemies that can take extra turns are the worst?

I'm not that bad. Or at least I wasn't...been awhile since I've played. I forced myself to learn sniper rifles once I learned they were one of the most powerful weapons in the game against bosses. Even more so than rawket lawnchairs.micah211 wrote: I'm an atrocious sniper in Destiny. I might hit 1 shot in the mag, and it's a body shot.
I typically watch youtube too, but there's 2 streamers who are so much better live than their recordings.
Destiny 2 gameplay?
But at the same time, I kept them equipped in PvP for opportunity shots if nothing else. There's usually a poor scrub camping at the heavy ammo drop.

I have mixed feelings. On the one hand...there was like 5 seconds of gameplay. So it was pretty much just 'another Destiny trailer'.
On the other hand...I have no complaints at all about another Destiny trailer.

Oh, that is pure rage quit. Pure. 100% 'I am leaving this game for several hours'.Deepfreeze32 wrote: Yeah, I had a fight end poorly in this game I've been playing (Digital Devil Saga: Avatar Tuner) where a boss inflicted confuse, and hit everyone. There's a boss like that in FF13. You have to fight it with a certain build, in a certain way, and still hope for luck that you don't get munched. I actually looked up a guide on how to beat it. O_o
I...despise those enemies.

There's a phrase in the community: Shin Megami Tensei Bull****. Mot (The boss I showed you) is 100% that.
The ultimate boss (New Game Plus optional boss) of Digital Devil Saga is the protagonist of Nocturne (Which was the game in the video I showed you), and is probably the hardest in the series. If you max everything, you still only have a 50% chance of winning because the boss can throw a spell that does instant-kill at max level. It's annoying as heck. XD
There's a boss in SMT IV who is also super annoying, but not because he takes extra turns. Oh no, he gets insanely high crit rates. And crits give you an extra turn (But only to a maximum of 2x the current amount of turns for the enemy). And did I mention this is in the first third of the game?
Suppose you were given two options:
1). You do something that pays well, but you don't particularly love, for the rest of your working life (retirement being the end).
2). You do something you love, but it doesn't pay super well, for as long as you enjoy.
Which would you chose, and why?

Trust me, there was a lot more than 5 seconds. They did a strike, pvp, and the first mission.

I've never been one for bosses like that; I don't think I have ever tackled Ultima in FF. XDDeepfreeze32 wrote: There's a phrase in the community: Shin Megami Tensei Bull****. Mot (The boss I showed you) is 100% that.

Option 2. Money is not worth the loss of life I experience in doing a job I hate. I don't mind scraping by if I don't dread going into work like it's death itself.
I realize that sounds over dramatic...but I don't handle stress well anyway, and working a normal job...it drives me bonkers. My life becomes work, and if anything interferes with work, I get rid of it, because I can't handle the idea of getting fired or screwing my job up, or whatever.
So for me...I have to find a way to make a living doing something I like.
Not in the trailer. I'll have to look up the videos and watch them, then.micah211 wrote: Trust me, there was a lot more than 5 seconds. They did a strike, pvp, and the first mission.

I can relate to that. I just have a current standard of living (and then there's the problem that the area I live in is getting more expensive all the time), and I have no idea how to transition to a lower standard of living. :/
Got some music this time. It's not metal, or fast, or anything. Instead it's slow, alternative, and a bit of indie. But just the same, I really like it, and the music video is kind of surreal in a cool way.
Thoughts?

That is...You know, I have been accused many times of wasting both my life and my money.
I now have a grand, immutable defense to foist upon those accusation. O_o I have seen few events outside of the realm of fiction that so completely screamed 'invented for bored, rich people'. XD
I could make a joke--not about your wish or lifestyle, mind--but it wouldn't help you, and so I won't.Deepfreeze32 wrote: I can relate to that. I really, really liked that. Like a lot. Despite the hipster flavoring exuded, that was just good musics.

I wouldn't say bored, but definitely rich people.

When JRPGs don't give you money at the end of encounters?

I'm sticking to my guns. "Let's drive around the country breaking the speed laws and partying at every stop" definitely sound like a bored rich people thing.micah211 wrote: I wouldn't say bored, but definitely rich people.

I've never been a fan of driving though. All the fun things are illegal. O_o
I want it. I love the stuff. I'd have RGB lighting in my toilet seat, if I could. Pressure sensors linked to lighting in my floor. A ceiling fan would be especially amazing. And I would honestly love it wrapped around trees and stuff in my yard. That would be amazing at night.
If someone would just progress wireless electricity a bit farther, the dream could be a reality.
Depends on whether or not the game has been designed around that or not. If it's a glitch, I mean. I can't recall a JRPG I have played which hasn't given gold and some form of EXP at the end of a fight though.Deepfreeze32 wrote: When JRPGs don't give you money at the end of encounters?
It kinda makes sense, actually. Why should that giant worm I just killed have gold? Where did it keep it? O_o

I love RBG... So much. I'm buying a few strips of RGB to line my PC and my desk and have them sync together. Then I'm going to install software that syncs the lights to my games so they change color with everything I do.

Well, let me describe the situation to you:
You live in this town (styled after Sengoku-era Japan) and you are a Samurai. Your role as a Samurai is to kill monsters in this underground dungeon called Naraku. You can recruit monsters to come to your side, but sometimes they will want something from you. They may want an item, or money, or to take some of your HP or SP (SP being the stuff that allows you to use magic). They will have a random chance of joining you, so it's up to you what you want to give away. Also if you die, you are presented with two (Technically three, but I'm ignoring the play coins) options: Pay a fee in Macca (The money of the game), or reload your save.
One more important thing: There are only two ways (not counting skills you could not possibly have access to at this point) to recover SP: Sleeping in the barracks, which requires you to go to the surface, or using an SP item. SP items are not sold at the store, and very rarely drop from enemies. Money NEVER drops from enemies.
Now, picture the following situation:
You have to fight a boss, but to get there you have to go from the top of the dungeon to the bottom. And there are enemies everywhere. So you get to the boss, now with maybe 2/3rds health and SP. Maybe you use some healing items (Not cheap), or you use more SP to heal up. Get into the boss, and you have to use all your SP just to avoid dying, but you beat it! Great, now you have almost no HP, no SP, no items to recover either (Because you're broke), and if you want healing, you'll have to fight your way back to the surface.
This situation could wholly be fixed with two changes: 1). Be able to buy SP restorative items at the shop, and 2). get money after every encounter. The ONLY ways to make money are to get lucky when negotiating with monsters (Sometimes instead of joining you, they'll give you money or items instead), or to sell items you've collected. Of which there are not many.
Oh, and I forgot the best part! After this first dungeon, there are enemies which have a skill called Macca Beam. Macca Beam will take 30-50% of all the Macca you have on you. And while normally games would let you get this back by beating the enemy, not so here! It's gone. Forever.
I actually ragequit this game, and will probably not be beating it. I'm so freaking done with this nonsense.
So, ragequitting games?

Not a huge sports fan. I don't have anything against hockey, but I feel about it like I do...football, or baseball. Just kind of apathetic, with the understanding that it's probably pretty fun to play.
Nice. XD I'd probably enjoy that, actually. I'd unashamedly use a guide though.Deepfreeze32 wrote: Well, let me describe the situation to you:

So, ragequitting games?![]()
I know I have done it before. But I can't think of any examples. Most ragequits I come back to later and beat it because I don't take losing to inanimate objects well.

Most of the time I ragequit involves other people in multiplayer games, and not just the game itself. I finished a match in Paragon the other day in which I had an absolute turd team mate. Dude was...that special kind of MOBA player that gives the rest of us bad names. In the lobby? "I WILL FEED IF I DON'T GET MORIGESH IF ANYONE ELSE CHOOSE HER I WILL FEED".
In the game? "IF I DON'T GET MIDDLE LANE I WILL GO IN JUNGLE AND NEVER COME OUT EXCEPT TO FEED AND I KNOW HOW TO DO THIS. IGGY DON'T GO MID"
After we started losing badly, because he was inept and everyone else on the team was hurting for it? "U GUYS ARE TRASH I WON'T LET YOU SURRENDER YOU TRASH NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU TRASH ASK I WILL ALWAYS VOTE AGAINST IT BECAUSE I AM PUNISHING YOU FOR BEING TRASH UNINSTALL THE GAME AND NEVER PLAY IT AGAIN"
After the match was over? "REPORT IGGY FOR BEING A TRASH PLAYER U GUYS. IGGY, UNINSTALL THE GAME YOU TRASH"
I put the game down and walked away for three days. I just couldn't. Not even kind of. It was a blessing that I didn't have a keyboard plugged into my PS4 at that time, because I would have said...some things. Unpleasant things. Things I don't say normally.

Castlevania II is legendary, I'm pretty sure that's the first (or second) game the Angry Video Game Nerd ever covered. XD
But man, some of those MOBA players are a special kind of frustration. Ugh.
Any new game releases you're looking forward to?
