Laptoppy.

OK, technically, the built computer costs less by about $100-200, but after I tack on a gaming keyboard, LCD monitor, and optical or laser mouse, it equals out very close to the same.

I'd have to buy the mouse still, of course.

Or this one, which can supposedly handle Crysis.

Other laptoppy.

According to Passmark, both are high level CPU's, but fall mid-range on a score list. I'm also unhappy that they are in Intel. :D

The first one is FAR superior to the second one, I'll say that.

The first is decent, but it's a tad underpowered for Crysis.

But, you should be able to play it at Medium to high settings if you tried.

But then again, knowing you, you'd find Crysis to be a "Non-Christian game that no one should play!"

:P

I'm also unhappy that they are in Intel. :D

Then why are you giving me a big grin about that? :?

I'm going to spit in your eye. After gargling with Boric acid. Which I have. -_-

OK, fursrs, I've not ever said that. I've implied it, and though it to a lesser extent. But only because the game contained foul content. I think I said "That game is bad". "Non-Christian game that no one should play!" is a bit outside my vocabulary. Why the hatin'?

Also, why the big difference in quality? I spotted a processor difference of .10 . Is it the Asus vs. Gateway?

And...I'm smiling, because I actually know the difference between Intel and AMD, which I had no clue before you turned me onto building PC's. In other words, I smile because I know enough to be unhappy.

I think you missed this part of my post:

No, it's more the amount of video RAM on each graphics chip.

Twice as much on the expensive one.

In the end, both could play Crysis.

Also, it depends on what other games you want to play.

List?

It falls to personal preference, for the most part.

Intel is better at overclocking (Running the CPU faster than it normally runs) and has better quad-core systems.

AMD on the other hand, has better dual-core systems for less, meaning a better value over-all.

If you're a tech guru then Intel has some definite advantages.

Otherwise, AMD is just as good, and slightly cheaper than Intel.

Ah, alright. Gotcha.

Those are some good points. So... whenever I am able to build that compy I told you 'bout... I should probably look into AMD's processors, considering I'd be building a dual-core?

Yeah, unless you have an extra $200 to throw around.

I....don't have one.

Most of the movies I've seen have been excellent.

AMD CPU's are also more efficient in their equations, so, for example, an AMD Athlon XP 2100+ runs at 1.73 GHz, yet it matches the performance of a 2.1GHz Pentium 4. But yeah, mostly preference. Even more funny is the fact that the AMD vs Intel argument has been going on for a long time. :D

I saw the smiley's devilish grin, but still wanted to know why? :D

List of games? I don't know really. Crysis, obviously. And Crysis warhead. Actually, probably a lot of 360 games that would be cheaper to get on PC. So:

Assassins Creed
Orange Box
Unreal Tournament 4
GoW 1 and 2

And such the like. I still want a 360, but when I do eventually get a computer I want it to be fairly powerful, because buying a weak PC to save money doesn't compute with me. :D

Well, either one should work, just don't expect maximum graphical settings out of either.
