I wish I had more happy news to report on this front. I'm still not done with the first draft. I'm on the second to last chapter... but I'm having trouble coming up with a really good climax. On the other hand, I'm already formulating an idea about what to write next November. :) One thing I think I need to do before November, though, is design my characters. I think it will help if I have my characters' personalities firmly set before I start throwing things at them. I'm afraid that my last two novels - possibly three - may have rather weak protagonists, and that's not really something I want to do. I'm looking at other stories, and it seems that the most popular protagonists tend to have quirks and flaws that tend to make them well=liked. I think I need to get into that sort of mindset and design similarly flawed, yet likable, characters.

Roll down their window. The car I've been driving lately has controls for all the windows on the driver's side door. So I can press a lever... and then a button which disables their ability to roll it up. That's especially fun in winter!

I don't think I've ever played a first person adventure game (aside from action-adventure games, which tend to closely resemble first-person shooters). I do enjoy adventure games, though, provided they have a decent storyline. Those that don't (e.g. The Longest Journey) or feel more like "pixel-clickers" rather than a story-driven game, have a tendency to feel like it's more of a waste of time, rather than a fun game.

They can be entertaining. Depends on the author, of course. There have been many books that I've read across a variety of genres which make me think "how did THIS get published?!?"

This has further reinforced my theory that people don't need to have any actual talent in order to succeed in this society....

Fairy food tastes like 10000 years of servitude. Or selling someone's soul. Or getting a team of brave freedom loving guardian fairies to free you.

I actually enjoy a good pixel clicker, from time to time. The trick for them is to be unafraid of looking up help in the internets...otherwise, they just get annoying.
