When you go to look into J#, could you let me know if it's still supported? I had heard .NET 2.0 was the last version that did.

It probably won't be anytime soon, but I found this little
work around.

Interesting. I thought the CLR was to make it so that the source language didn't matter. Am I missing something?
(That's not a dig, I'm actually wondering.

Well, it matters in a little bit since some are supported and some aren't.
The point of J# was to "interface" Java with the CLR, and eventually Microsoft thought it wasn't worth the trouble, I guess.

It always seemed odd to me that they tried that... Developers with a Java background learning C# would have a very easy time getting up to speed, and while you could probably import most Java code into J#, you still wouldn't have access to the .jars and classes needed anyway. I had to maintain a webapp done in J# once, and it was painful since I was concurrently upgrading another one in C#.
VB.NET?

I use it when I have to, but I never get over how odd it feels to write in.

This is what comes of overexposure to Microsoft products... a lack of security...
...I'll stretch that analogy no further.

As it turns out, my openness is from an overabundance of security. Sure makes me sound like a linux man, now doesn't it?
Working with AJAX right now, actually.

My sisters gave it to me as a Christmas gift last year. Really fun.
One of my sisters mentioned that the guys at MIT like to play Time Travel risk that starts with the Lord of the Rings risk board (which my family owns), then proceeds to regular Risk (which both my family and I have a copy) and then to Risk 2210 (which I own) where you are playing on 3 boards at a time.
We might end up doing it when she gets back from Harvard.

Nice. I just bought a copy of 2210, but it's shipping and feels as though it's taking forever. I'm going to try to talk my family into trying the time thingum, but I'm having trouble so far. XD
