It was good. I mean, I don't like either of the leads. At all. Bradley Cooper kinda walks around looking like he's just been slapped the entire time and Ryan Gosling smokes like a twelve year old girl.

Man, this just didn't feel the same to me. I enjoyed it, but not as much as the first two.

Humm, the last movie I watched was probably Star Wars, but I can't really remember. I'll have to get back to you on that one.....

The Amazing Spider-Man - a good reboot but I don't know why they rebooted it

The last movie I saw was Taken 2. Laughably bad.

Brave - Loved the art style and the setting, was disappointed in the lack of story, but I wasn't expecting too much. I felt that there was so much more that could have been done (and apparently the released film is way different than the darker version of the story that was originally conceived) but it was not the worst way to spend 90 minutes.

Stand Up Guys - I wish I could jump on board the nostalgia train for this one, but all I saw was Walken and Pacino drag out painful dialogue (every line was so bad and they seemed to take a minute to say each one) in a plot that went nowhere. Walken's performance got a little better and more nuanced as the film went on, but in the beginning it seemed to be at absurd levels of self-parody. I haven't seen Pacino in very much but I didn't mind his performance, even though his character was despicable and cringe-worthy. However, if I was watching this one on my own, I probably wouldn't have made it past ten minutes. To add to all that, the ending was the most contrived, anticlimactic piece of schlock I've ever seen. One of the other guys I watched it with (whose opinion I usually respect) liked it, and I really wanted to like it, but I wouldn't waste your time. At least it's short.

Wallace and Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit.

Cinematic perfection.

This Spring took 3 friends to see "42" about Jackie Robertson.
Good REAL story and well done.

Was proceeded by 4x previews of summertime super-powered 'hero' movies that looked to be more about seeing stuff smashed than about anyone's good character.

I have a on my old TV that reads,
Rare is the movie that shows that it takes years of fundamentals to make a great hero.
Largely in respect to at least the attempt at truth in the 1st Karate Kid movie.

It is usually more about good teacher(s) and sustained work than about birth talent or sudden brute emotions.
For most Hollywood movies the latter is usually revenge, which is not sweet or of lasting satisfaction.

"The Searchers".

The Orpheum, in Memphis, was showing this on a big screen, and I went with my parents, cousins and one aunt. XD Really, really fun times. Classic movies in an upscale setting (with a bluegrass band playing beforehand) with my famblies? Nigh unbeatable experience.

I will say that, while I can understand Harry Potter and the Sorcerors stone being one of their "decade" movies (the 2000's, I think), I cannot fathom how Mean Girls made it. O_o
