Cover looked interesting and the movie was pretty good.

Bought it at Blockbuster for $3.99 since their unfortunate demise.

B

- Knight and Day

Also pretty good.

Really good. Good actors too. Shows the perspective of 3 Policemen.

B

- Second in Command

Really, really, really bad. The gun-play is terrible. Special effects is worse. Van Damme's fight scenes aren't as great as his previous films.

True Grit

While technically and fundamentally perfect, this movie left me feeling underwhelmed, and not the 'SO EPIC MOVIE' feeling I was expecting from what others told me about the movie and since it is a Coen production. For me it doesn't pass the original movie due to intangibles the original had, but with that said it was a great movie and I would watch it again. It was just lacking that certain something that would push it into the 'fantastic A+' region.

I agree. I'd give it an 8/10. The other movie I saw that night, Devil, was technically a much lesser movie in terms of production quality and the quality of the screenplay, but I enjoyed it more. I thought it was a riveting, edge-of-your-seat thriller. 8.5/10

EDIT: Devil may not be suitable for everyone. It's a fictional story about 5 people trapped in an elevator and one of them is the devil come to settle a score. I personally didn't think that the movie blasphemed God or the Christian faith, but some Christians might feel differently. Also, don't expect it to be scripturally accurate, it's based more on Christian folklore than on the Bible. I do feel that the ultimate message of the movie was a positive one.

Devil is a really good horror. It makes sense. Devil is a Life-taker and God is a Life-giver.

Though, if that happen to me, I'd accept the consequences.

It wasn't half as bad as I thought it would be.

Super 8

Also good.

Astro Boy.

It is what it is. A simple heartwarming action flick.

However, in a major plus, there was no cheesy romance thrown in for the sake of having the two teens kiss at the end. I'd likely give it more points than most movies for that alone.

- The Triangle

I thought it was a film that lasted 240 minutes. Turns out its a Sci-Fi miniseries.

The Bermuda Triangle has always made me curious about it and is 1 of my destination plans if on vacation.

Really good Mystery/Suspense.

- Battle: Los Angeles

Awesome film. I always like films where modern weapons are used against aliens such as AvP: Requiem and Terminator Salvation (technically, their robots).

Also like the heroism of it too.
Spoiler:
Like when a Military Tank attacks overwhelming aliens while covering the Marines.
Maybe not intentional but still, heroic.

The Thing.

IDK. I thought it was decent, but it could've at least tried to be subtle. I definitely think I'd have liked it better if they never showed the flying saucer.
