Thor.

It wasn't horrible. 3D seemed to be wasted.

2001: A Space Odyssey

I made the mistake of watching this at 0400 this morning. I...have no idea what to say.

It's a true story of monks in a monastery in Morocco who help people out, but then extremist violence break out and they wonder if they should stay or leave. They decide to stay despite the danger. It doesn't end well.

It's... one of the most slowly paced movies I've ever seen, maybe with exception of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Nevertheless, the dilemma these monks faced, whether to leave those people to their fate or to risk their lives by staying, and wondering what God wants them to do, is interestingly portrayed. It's also nice that the movie treats them and their faith with the utmost respect.

My girlfriend didn't like it, but I thought it was okay.

I've watched so many movies over the past couple of weeks it wouldn't be worth it remembering what they all are. However, most recently I've watched:

Tangled - I liked this more than I thought I would. In fact, I watched it twice over about a twenty-four hour period. That almost never happens.

Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring [Extended] - I've seen this movie so many times, yet it always holds up. I mainly watched it to induct my 11 year old sister into the LotR ranks. :)

Love Actually w/ mah gf.

It's a flawed but still very charming romantic comedy. You can easily poke holes in it but I find its flaws easy to forgive.

It's an ensemble movie with about 8 or so intertwining storylines that are all about love and relationships. Well actually, some of them are more about physical attraction/lust, but others are very touching and truly show love in its many facets. Not all of the stories are realistic, but then again romantic comedies are rarely realistic. The acting from the all-star cast is good, it's fairly funny and the songs/musical score are excellent.

Judith loved it as well, it moved her to tears.

Beware though, it's an R-rated movie, there's nudity, language and sexual jokes, while I like the movie I can understand if some Christians think it's too vulgar for their tastes.

^ Good movie, but I think there's definitely a benefit to buying the Asian DVD of the movie...it's widely edited so that the storylines of the two porn stars are completely cut out. Normally I wouldn't advocate censorship, but in this case I was okay with it; it didn't take anything away from the film at all.

The Butterfly Effect

Apparently it was the directors cut. The original ending sounds soooo much better. As it was...I thought it sucked.

I liked it a lot. Good movie, though it has nothing to do with the others. :D
