Never done it, really. I've tried it with my .22 (my semi-auto), but it's recoil (or lack of) can be... tricky to get it to work. Sometimes it does... sometimes I'm holding it too tightly.

I have, however, put a screw on the lever of my lever action .22 and just used that so when I cock the lever... it fires upon being brought back down. Very fast.
