Yeah, actually. Recently that was The Bourne Supremacy for me. The first time I saw it, I hated it, simply because of how altered the plot was from the original novel. Going back now I can take it as a very good action movie.Orodrist wrote:Anyone ever taken a book or story you like and make a movie 'based on it', that really had just ripped the characters out, perverted them, and wrote a whole new plot?

You were telling him about Buddha, you were telling him about Mohammed in the same breath. You never mentioned one time the Man who came and died a criminal’s death...

That wasn't really the problem, because Kate Beckinsale kinda outweighed both of them. >.>Chozon1 wrote:Did you not have a crush on Josh Hartnett and Ben AFLACK?
I know it's misspelled...but who could resist?
But seriously, it was the directing by Michael Bay. Ugh.
Not a fan.Strider wrote:Pantera?

I have a few favorites, so I can't pick just one.Chozon1 wrote:Hmm...maybe.

Of course there's Saving Private Ryan, but I also loved Letters from Iwo Jima (possibly one of Eastwood's best directorial efforts), Platoon (holy cow. Amazing film), Apocalypse Now Redux (absolutely stunning) and, amazingly, The Deer Hunter. Sure, it's bloated and overlong... but De Niro and Walken starring in a movie about the lasting effects of war? Man oh man, it's brutal and tragic and a total must-see.

So going from that, it's an impossibility that will constantly refine a given work.
I... don't know. But I think you should.Chozon1 wrote:How is it I have never seen any of the movies you listed? O_O
Note that I didn't say "Full Metal Jacket." I really really want to see that movie... but somehow, it's just never happened.
