I've got mixed feelings about politics. Although the idea of anarchy - meaning no government - does have its appeal, I don't think society is anywhere close to morally or spiritually mature enough to adopt it. So politics is a necessary evil in our lives.

That being said, I do think that the political system in this nation is overdue for some major overhauls. Having term limits for all federally elected positions would be a great start. There should be no such thing as a "career politician" in this nation: our elected representatives should be one of us - your corner grocer, the guy who fixes your plumbing, or the computer nerd down the block - rather than someone who has been groomed for the position and has more of a personal relationship with his or her lobbyists than any of his or her voters.

There's a theory that you can learn a lot about a person based on their favorite Ninja Turtle, so I'll be asking a bunch of you guys this question.
  • What's your favorite Ninja Turtle?
If you have a close second, name that one, too. Because, let's be honest, everybody likes Leonardo.

Donatello, easily. Leonardo is actually my least favorite. I'm not saying I don't like Leo, I just think the other three are cooler.

So what does that say about me?

Appreciate intelligence and perhaps a little more introverted. You not liking Leonardo tells me you might not value "being cool" as much as enjoying yourself.

We'll put my theory to the test. If it doesn't work, I'll just pull a page from Astrology and make them general enough to apply to anyone.

That's fairly accurate, though. Your theory may have some merit. At least as far as Donatello is concerned.

Mice certainly. It isn't good when rodents forget their place in the food chain.

Mind if I ask a few questions of my own?

If you could place an unlimited amount of one type of Minecraft block in the real world, what would it be and why?
Are you in any way related to the Gorn?
What is your most annoying Minecraft moment?

Go for it!

Good question. Especially since my entire time in Minecraft has been all of about 15 minutes.

The first time I played I wandered around the island for a while, looking and laughing at the silly little block pigs and sheep. Then some flaming skeleton showed up and tried to shoot me with arrows. So I ran away back to the beach, fell into a hole, and couldn't get out.

The second time I played Minecraft, I decided to try and figure out what I was supposed to do. I heard that, if I didn't get a shelter built before it got dark, monsters would eat me. I found a menu that had achievements (or something like that) and that's how I learned my character had the power to punch down trees with his bare hands. (Really? and I can't fight skeletons? Go figure.) So I made me a wooden block. I followed the guide and learned how to make a table. Then it told me that to build a pick, a sword or some other tool, I needed to get some sticks.

So I promptly spent the rest of my time wandering around looking for sticks. I found some bamboo, but that didn't seem to do it. Eventually, it got dark, and something green ate me.

I haven't been in the game since then.

So if I had to choose a block, I would say blocks of sticks. That way I would always have a stick around to fight off green things that tried to eat me. Or something.

Not even remotely. My lineage runs more along the lines of the iksar from Everquest, or the slithzeraki from the Avernum series. I'm sorry to say that there have been no spacefarers in my ancestry.

Not being able to find sticks. Or my entire game time.

Hummingbird. The only bird that can fly upside-down! :)

Wow, I didn't know hummingbirds flew upside-down!

(By the way, to make sticks in Minecraft you just go into the crafting table and place two wood planks, one above the other. Good idea, though!)

I've heard about that now (mostly from a couple of other players who live across town from me who adore the game). But I just haven't had the time - or the incentive - to get back into Minecraft and fumble around again.
