Unleashed - A decent action flick only carried by Jet Li's prowess and the screen presence of Morgan Freeman. Bob Hoskins as the gangster works well enough, I suppose, but there are times when you just want him to stay dead, and if you've seen the film, you know what I'm talking about. C+
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - People kept reassuring me that even if I didn't like the first one, I should still give the second one a shot. Well, I wasn't sure that it was possible, but Transformers 2 manages to be worse. It suffers from the syndrome known as 'too much movie.' Not only does the two-and-a-half hour running time majorly drag it down (and out), there's so much trying to go on that it's impossible to keep up with. Not that Michael Bay makes you want to anyway. D
Wheels on Meals - An extremely well choreographed Jackie Chan (let's not forget Yuen Biao and Sammo Hung) comedy. While many of the jokes probably got lost in translation (and cease to be funny over a not-so-hot English dub), the stunts and the cheese factor make this film watchable. As an added bonus, the film in it's entirety is up legally on youtube, but as a general warning there's quite a bit of suggestive content that would've been better off on the cutting room floor. C

You were telling him about Buddha, you were telling him about Mohammed in the same breath. You never mentioned one time the Man who came and died a criminal’s death...

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
To put it simply, brutal. The mystery aspect was decent enough to keep me from figuring it all out from the start.

The Blind Side
Wow. All the things I've heard about this movie... are completely true. It skillfully avoids sappiness and, as Kenny puts it, the feel-good-movie syndrome, managing to truly inspire and make an individual feel joyous. I also very much admired its simplicity, which seems pretty rare in filmmaking these days. Definitely a movie I can recommend to anyone.

The Lovely Bones
It's... as much as I expected. The acting was great from the primary cast, but Stanley Tucci seemed to be the only one that really engaged with the entire affair. He was absolutely, irrevocably perfect as Mr. Harvey. What you would expect a messed up rapist and murderer to be like... he portrayed so solidly.
Unfortunately, Tucci couldn't save the movie. Peter Jackson was either trying way too hard or not trying hard enough. His heart didn't seem to be in the project, as was evident with the terrible writing and sub-par direction.
The worst thing, however, is how much they completely slaughtered the story. The book was a disturbing, difficult, beautiful contemplation of life and death, whereas the movie seemed to focus more on the unrealistic innocence and angelic qualities of Susie Salmon. Basically, they ditched the darker aspects for infernally excessive lightness.
See it for the acting and the beautiful CGI. Other than that... it was thoroughly disappointing.

The Pianist
There are only a few movies that have made me straight up sob... and this is one of them. I can't find one complaint with this film. Adrien Brody's performance was just... stunningly amazing. I didn't expect it in the least. I didn't expect anything that this movie gave me. Basically, I'm rather in awe.

^That's a shame, CK, I really wanted to see The Lovely Bones.
Oh, maybe it wasn't obvious to you guys, but after about like, the tenth beating that Bart receives at the hand of fate, you gotta wonder what this guy is made of.
I mean, he gets badly beaten multiple times, survives multiple horrific car wrecks, I don't know how many gunshots, and *SPOILERS*ends up dying at the hand of a potted plant. The film doesn't really tell you though, so he probably survived.*SPOILERS*
Still, decent movie.

I adored the visuals. And the fight scenes. Those were amazingly executed. They weren't the whole movie, which normally is a good thing (Transformers, I'm looking at you) but the rest of the movie was cliched environmentalist propaganda. Combined with a sappy love story that is more like Pocahontas than anything else.
C+ for the excellent visual effects and amazing fight choreography.

Mindblowing? Nah. Worth my time? Yes. <3 Hulk.
Hulk vs. Thor
Intriguing. It's always interesting to see how crossovers are handled. This one was handled decently.

Kick-"Butt"
Pretty good. Lots of violence, fair amount of swearing, though very little sexual content. The gore level is pretty high. You see a guy get microwaved and explode, and chunks of people's skulls fly out when they get shot in the head. Pacing felt a bit... weird and some stuff felt off, but all in all I liked it.

Kick-A**
Awesome. The action was well choreographed and thrilling. The movie did a fantastic job of balancing comedy (both light and dark), thrills and heavy drama; just as I was getting comfortable with the tone, the movie switched it up with something surprising. The final big action sequence was insane. I loved the vibrant and colorful style, and the "origin story" of Big Daddy and Hit-Girl was beautiful. There was very little to fault in this movie.

I had a ton of fun with this one. It was a surprising contemplation on comic books, the state of our youth... and the innate desire that some have to help others out.

Better than Hannibal, but not as good as Silence of the Lambs. Good, but not great....

Dirty Harry
Wow. Just, wow. Didn't like the excessive (At times) nudity, but it was more than made up for by Clint Eastwood's amazing acting. Plus, the awesome quotes.

Patriot Games
Another great movie, with excellent performances by Sean Bean and Harrison Ford. And I must say, it was a great adaptation of the book. All around, amazing. Lesson for bad guys: Don't tick Jack Ryan off. Ever. XD

Milo and Otis - it was for the kids, I fell asleep I was tired but for the parts I was awake it was cute. Was surprised to see the cat and dog actually giving birth.
