The Stoning of Soraya M.

I encourage everyone who hasn't seen this movie, to do so. It shows how brutal, hateful, and hypocritical the so called "Religion of Peace" can be... specifically the men of Islam.

The stoning itself is probably one of the most heart-wrenching things I've ever watched in movie... right under the Crucifixion in The Passion of the Christ. I was on the verge of tears the whole time watching it.

Extremely well done. It was the best film I've seen in a while.

A, or possibly even A+

The Blind Side

Whoa... a feel good movie that didn't reek of feel good movie syndrome. I get so bored of movies suffering from FGMS, so I was quite pleased with this reality.

Burn After Reading

Still classic. Even better when you watch it with someone who has never seen it.

Sunshine

I can honestly say that my days haven't been the same since I watched this movie. It's so... enlightening and beautiful. My only complaint is the incoherency I experienced from time to time with the plot, but ultimately, there's so much to make up for that.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

I think it was better than Underworld, if only because it was set in a medieval time with swords and such. Though... it does raise some questions about the first... first the general discrepancies between what we see in the first and Rise of the Lycans- Sonja having blond in the first and black in this, wearing a plain robe when I think she wears a dress in the original. The former is understandable (somewhat) since she's supposed to look like the girl from the first. Though, with how well the Lycan's did in one battle I find it hard to believe that they were ever really losing (same problem as in the first movie).

Also there's always been the problem of them mentioning the werewolves were "daylight guardians" of the vamps... but also slaves. It doesn't make any sense- someone could just walk up and say "I want to kill the vamps" and they'd probably just let them through. There's a few other plot holes, or just plain stupidity on the vamps part as well.

I'd say: C+

How to Train Your Dragon

I am infinitely pleased and amazed. Definitely one of the best animated movies I've seen, and maybe up there close to my favorite general movies. Dreamworks has really created something that legitimately competes with Pixar.

So. Many. Nice.

Ocean's Eleven

I think the only way to describe this movie is like this: What if the Impossible Missions Force decided to rob a Vegas casino?

Yes, it was good. Yes, it was amazing. Yes, it had a few flaws.

Saving Private Ryan

First let me say my main criticism of this movie was length. Too.....Long.....

Excellent movie though, ignoring the length.

Death Becomes Her

Absolutely zany. Bruce Willis, Meryl Streep, Goldie Hawn, and Isabella Rossellini ham it up beautifully. This movie doesn't take itself seriously at all, but it also has a strange style that marries the styles of Burton and Zemeckis (directed by the latter) when they were in their top forms. Such a fun movie to watch.

Let's see if I can remember all of them..

Tarzan - Disney: YEAAAAAAHHHHHHH

High School Musical 2 - My completion of viewing the film trilogy.

Scream - Pretty decent, showed more restraint than I expected, and I was thankful. Also quite funny.

Kate and Leopold - Cute, but seems lacking in the comedy part of it's genre, despite some good tries by Breckin Meyer. I still enjoyed it, but mostly for Liev Schreiber's scene-stealing and Hugh Jackman's smexiness.

Ghost Town - Whimsical and funny, with a lot of extra cheese.

Notting Hill - Very unbelievable, but extremely funny, with a surprising amount of sincere heart for a romantic comedy.

Underworld: Evolution

Even worse than the first. Where the exposition was lacking in the first, it was outright missing in this one. Right from the get-go we were asking questions and in any attempt at a dramatic scene we were pretty much just jeering at the screen. Action varies from decent (we actually see the vamps do something superhuman) to monotonous. The main character is always shooting, despite the fact that it usually looks much better when she's using other means to kill people and those seem to work better. Oh and there's two fairly lengthy sex scenes in the middle that had nothing to do with anything.
