The mid-80s David Lynch version is decent enough. It's fun in that corny sci-fi way.
And the SciFi channel version? Pretty awesome, generally speaking.

I liked the first Hellboy a lot.

The first one had this almost air of realism to it. Not because of what happened, but because of the way it was presented.
The second lost that because what was presented, while decent enough, was hidden behind a shroud of stupidity. The CGI stuff was bad, the puppetry was middling, etc., etc. It didn't stun like the first had, and ultimately felt the lesser film.
