I liked the first one to the point where I'm afraid to watch number 2. What didn't you like about it?

The second lost that because what was presented, while decent enough, was hidden behind a shroud of stupidity. The CGI stuff was bad, the puppetry was middling, etc., etc. It didn't stun like the first had, and ultimately felt the lesser film.
