True, but my point wasn't "perfectly parallel." Point was "I'm crazy about you, and I know that I'm giving you the opportunity to absolutely destroy me." Aaaaand... I don't know any girl who doesn't feel horrible for Mr. Darcy when Elizabeth breaks his heart.

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer

Tom Tykwer never fails to disappoint me as a director. Perfume was a stunning, tense, and at times shocking and revolting film. Be warned: the R rating is more than deserved (in part for the biggest orgy I have ever seen put to film), but for those that can stomach it, it's a beautiful film (in every way).

The Tomb of Ligeia.

Not an accurate depiction by any means though, there are plenty of nods to the short story. Not sure if I like it or not. It kinda, made some changes I didn't think fit the overall tone of the story.

It was interesting and silly. I liked the ending.

Edit: Almost forgot- The Proposal.

Watched this in my Digital Imaging class for some odd reason (nothing to do with class work). Romantic comedy isn't my favorite genre but this one was amusing in places, though it seemed to focus more on the girl and her dealing with his family and him with his dad than too much about actually developing their relationship. So when the predictable ending comes around it kind of felt underdeveloped, especially on his part.

Law Abiding Citizen

I absolutely adore this movie. It all comes down to the relationship between good/evil and the legal system. So good.

Also, Gerard Butler.

I watched World's Greatest Dad

Well...it is dark, depraved, sick, and very funny. I can't really detail the plot here for the sake of appropriateness, but it's one of those movies that makes you kinda feel bad for laughing at it. Yet, the delicate balancing act of satire, black comedy, and drama still makes you feel for the characters.

Shutter Island

What a great movie. Scorsese throws back to old school thrillers such as Hitchcock with this movie. The direction and cinematography was jarring and uncomfortable (making for a great feeling of uneasiness) and the soundtrack, which was made up of existing contemporary classical pieces for the most part, was one of the best I have heard in years. The sense of dread and sorrow established by the loud soundtrack is phenomenal. The plot twist was a little predictable, but it didn't spoil the movie.

What a movie. I mean... this is possibly one of the best, most understated movies that the Coens have ever done. Absolutely a classic.

It's a very light R.

Doesn't sound that bad, but just the fact that it has any nudity and more then 5 F words is enough to freak my parents out. xD

It's so good. I'm still reeling from it.

I just saw Shutter Island.

More or less a close adaptation of the book, but I disliked the marketing quite a bit. This wasn't a horror movie. It wasn't a horror book. It was a mystery with slight psychological thriller elements in it. Anyway, as per usual for Scorsese, it was a fantastic film, filled with excellent performances. Better than The Departed or The Aviator? No, but it wasn't trying to be.
