So did I, but my personal opinion is that I like 'Dead Man's Chest' more.

My personal opinion is that there is only one Pirates of the Caribbean movie that ever existed, and the ensuing sequels are only pipe dreams, much like the nonexistent Matrix sequels.

I last watched

Most of Once. I need to get this movie, I quite liked it. Glen Hansard makes for a charming lead, and the rest of the movie holds up pretty well. The most realistic movie about music that I've ever seen. B+

Wo shi shei - On a technical level, this gets a C. But on a personal level, A+.

That's one of the best movies ever.

As for PotC3, wow... I went to see it with two other people, and it was so silly and dull we all walked out about 30 minutes before it ended. I know a lot of people liked it, I just can't figure out why. To each his own, I guess.

I watched it in theaters and thought it was decent, but a step down from even Dead Man's Chest.

Then I tried to watch it when it came on TV and thought it was so boring and stupid that I had to turn it off.

...Why do they have to make a fourth one? Why?! :problem:

I saw it twice in theatres. The first time I didn't much like it... the second time, I fell asleep for part of it, which has only ever happened with Spider-Man 3. So you can see that it was bad.

Jacob's Ladder

Whoah. Whoah whoah whoah.

This is definitely one of the best horror movies I've ever seen, and one of the most disturbing.

I dunno if Event horizon was more disturbing or not, but this movie was very similar. The movie actually had a good ending for a horror flick. In the end, I would highly recommend this movie to Silent Hill fans (Bruce, I'mma lookin at you) but to the rest, or just very appropriateness-conscious people, I would recommend staying away due to high levels of disturbing imagery and some nudity/sexual content.

That's what I said when I heard the rumors about Zac Efron being Jack's apprentice.

Zac Efron?! *puts POTC 4 on his must-see list*

Serenity

Aside from the character assassination and a few wonky plot lines, it's epic.

My guess is it falls under some people's definition of "Awesome Crap" (term borrowed from Lanipator). Personally I have no real opinion of it- it's just not memorable. The parts that are memorable are interesting (fight scenes, Jack's schizo/MPD/whatever the heck it is) but as a whole I don't remember much.

And why are they making another one? Why can't they just leave it lie?

Inglorious Basterds

Meh, another immemorable movie. It probably didn't help that I didn't know what it was supposed to be and quite frankly still don't. I first thought that it was supposed to be a comedy, but I never actually heard that said of it. I never really got any other impression from it- not particularly dramatic, historically accurate, thrilling, funny, action-packed, or memorable at all. Looking around I see it listed as Action mostly, but there's... nothing really there. Potential spoilers, so shrinking:There's a scene of Nazis shooting the floor (implied that Jews are beneath, but still) someone getting beaten to death by a bat, a 20 second gunfight in a tavern and two guys killing some guards and then firing into a crowd. The dual plot-lines are rather pointless- they have the same goal, but are completely isolated from each other. They climax at roughly the same time, (and both of their goals succeed) but they never actually touch or influence each other to any extent. Well, I suppose they do influence each other in the fact that they break up the movie so I don't care about either.

Pen, you obviously need to see more Tarantino.

Perhaps, then again I wasn't terribly impressed with Kill Bill either.

However seeing more of Tarantino's movies isn't likely to change my opinion of this one. There was only one scene I really cared for and after that the movie kind of gave up it seemed.
