How do you find out about/know some many bands/artist? I mean, somebody could ask you your thoughts on some obscure German folk band, and you'll know about them. XD

I'm a repository of random information. ;)

No... that's not it. Well, sort of.

I retain a ton of information. I can connect a ton of bands in my head without the use of the internet, and tell you years that albums were released, in some cases producers and mixers working on the project, and so on. A lot of my information comes from the internet, but I meticulously research all of it. I don't like bad information. XD

Also, I have a few friends that are quite a bit like me in their knowledge of music, except that they go in a different direction. For example, I know a ton about grunge/90s rock, but I have a friend who knows far more about 80s and all types of metal. If need be, I go to him for information regarding that stuff.

So really, most of it is in my head, but quite a bit is the result of knowing people and knowing how to find information. ;)

A few, but not many.

Stuff like Nine Inch Nails, Gary Numan, New Order, Eurhythmics, Amon Tobin, Skinny Puppy, a bit of Oakenfold (he tends to annoy me), Sisters of Mercy, KMFDM, Moby, Fatboy Slim, Postal Service, Rammstein, The Streets... that's probably close to it. But maybe not. O_o
