XD
A movie the whole family can enjoy!
The Dark Knight = It's the first time I've seen it since I saw it in theaters way back when, so it allowed me to process the film a lot more. When I first saw it, I didn't know what the heck to think, except 'AWESOME'. I can now see it's flaws, but it does not make me appreciate the movie any less.
A fine blockbuster, and one that will be remembered. A-

A Midsummer Night's Dream - Shakespeare was, is, and always will be awesome.

2012 - Hey, I figured I wasn't going to go see this movie out of my own hard earned cash, so if my dad's willing to pay? Might as well.
Film wasn't bad from a technical perspective, but I didn't like it at all, and I'm having a hard time describing why.

I heard 2012 was very unoriginal.

It sounds like The Day After Tomorrow except with more explosions and general destruction. Also, no CGI wolves. >.>
That's my take on it, at least. <.<

Yep. Pretty much.
When I meant from a technical perspective, CG was relatively good, and none of the performances were completely horrible, with John Cusack and Woody Harrelson being my favorite.
I still can't describe why I didn't like it, but the closest I can come to it is, when the film is not being cliche and sappy, it revels in the destruction of billions of people, literally like some amusement park ride. [Example: Every single vehicular runaway from destruction scene.]
It's not that I found it morally objectional (it is, after all, only a movie) but I just sat in my chair waiting for it all to end.

It's funny, because they were written and directed by the same guy.

I won't even bother to write anything here about it, though.

The funny (read:annoying) thing about it is, everyone who I personally talked to who also saw the film loved it.

No one (except maybe Scotty?) will care about the artsy, pretension-filled stuff I somehow enjoy, but I might as well post.
Dogville by Lars von Trier is perhaps the most soul draining movie I've ever seen. It grasps your heart and then rips it out... and I wish I was kidding. Lars von Trier is the master of audience manipulation, and he does so brilliantly. There is no other movie that's ever been made like Dogville, and the acting is some of the best I've ever seen in my entire life.
However, all in all, it wasn't very enjoyable at all. It was brilliant and fascinating, but you leave with a pit in your stomach and a general feeling that people are scum. The craziest part is that in the middle of the movie, I was so happy for all the characters and how wonderful everything was that I was almost squealing with excitement. By the end, it had stripped me of any kind of feeling. It takes a powerful kind of film to do that, but watch at your own risk. However, no one will watch this here, so what do I have to worry about!

Haha. I read about the plot on wikipedia - what a crazy movie.
The craziest part of this is that Shassy watches these movies which are "brilliant" and "fascinating" when he doesn't even find them enjoyable.
:/
The Fellowship of the Ring.
Awesome, as always.

(I watch movies that are fun to watch!)
