So, I finally got around to watching Gladiator. Was I not entertained? Yeah, it sure didn't seem like two and half hours. Probably not as good as its touted, but certainly a well made film. B+

Basically exactly that. I honestly think Kingdom of Heaven (the Director's Cut, that is) was the far better, and certainly more epic, film.
Though some points subtracted for Orlando Bloom's occasionally pitiable acting.

I freaking loved this movie. It's a social commentary. It screws with your notions of justice. Gerard Butler is awesome. Easily my favorite movie since The Dark Knight.
Surrogates
As a film, it's far from the most amazing movie ever. However, it's also a social commentary. As a social commentary, it's great. Totally worth seeing... on DVD.
This remains one of my top favorite comedic films. It's sad that so few people have seen it.

Where the Wild Things Are
Yes. I overhyped it. I admit to this.
I still loved it, though. It was beautifully shot and constructed, though it dragged on from time to time. The whole Bob and Terry thing felt like it strayed from the nature of the movie, I might add.
Ultimately, as a reviewer put it, it seemed more like adult's ideas about childhood rather than something that a child can connect with. There's nothing wrong with that, but seeing as the book was so immensely popular with children, it's sad that it didn't seem to connect with them very well. I was extremely pleased to see that it wasn't just another false-feeling kid movie, though.
All in all, an excellent film with some shortcomings, but nothing to rock the boat over, I think.
I'll also add that I cried occasionally throughout the film. >.>
