Sadly, the only taste of love towards the opposite sex that I've ever had was unrequited. And, again sadly, it informs all of my creativity.

I'll tell you about my follies, if you want.
Yes, please, do tell.

Also, does it make you happy that I started listing to Rage Against the Machine?
Really? Well... okay.

Basically... I started to feel very strong emotions for a coworker of mine. I ended up telling her that I needed to talk to her, so we went on a car ride. What followed... I'm not proud of, though it was a learning experience.

Take it from me... practice restraint. Don't pour your emotions out at a woman, even if you feel as strongly as you say you do. I did that... and she ended up saying no, but not quite. It was more, "I can't." Those words, exactly. And what was worse was that she started talking about it to coworkers; so again, don't get involved with a coworker, even if it doesn't work out.

I didn't listen though. Oh no, I didn't listen. I thought she was afraid. Remember, I was like, 19 then, so... it was a hard lesson to learn. But I ended up writing her a letter. And it got worse. Sorta. I think she felt sorry for me... but at the same time, thought it was ridiculous. A female friend later told me that when a girl gets a letter like that, she doesn't *not* think about it... and this girl said that she had forgotten the letter at work. Where other people saw it. Ugh. Kinda embarrassing to go back through it in my head. Anyway, I ended up getting a call from her that night. She was leaving (not because of me, because of school), and wanted to say goodbye. And she wanted to say that I had been a good friend, and that she wanted to remain friends.

I haven't spoken to her since. I was devastated. I was hurt. I felt sick. Suicidal. I went through a month of feeling that way... and then, on my birthday in 2007, I felt better. Really better. The sun was shining, the birds were chirping. Soon, I wasn't counting the days I had been without her. I realized this month that she had been gone two years, and it had passed without me thinking about it. And that made me happy.

So what I mean to say is, yes, love can do all of that stuff to you... but you get over it. And you find someone else. Someone better, who appreciates you. :)

And yes, it's totally awesome that you're listening to Rage. :D

What's your take on the fact that others ask meaningful questions and I end up asking about cartoon situations and physics?

I think... that it's completely fine either way. ;)

Its previous owners fed it pancakes. :|

Copious amounts of them.

Five or six. Taught myself, yo. ;)

Yeah, I do.

I had this phrase just kind of come into my head the other day... and I realized that it tied into this song by Zao (called "My Love, My Love, We've Come Back From the Dead"). Lyrics are:

My love, my love we've come back from the dead
It's been seven years
Past the seventh day
On the seventh night
Crawl from within the earth tonight
The wind it howls, the wind it screams
Pulled up like puppets on invisible strings
Rise from the earth
Undead breath of life
Holy revenge shall take place tonight
(The dead travel fast)
My love, my love we will feast tonight
On the flesh of our enemies
Who put us in the ground
The ones who put us in the ground
With their blood on our hands
We shall be able to rest again
Rest in the arms of our grave

And the phrase is something like:

"It's been eight years. Eight years with the taste of dirt in my mouth. I still haven't gotten used to it."

Of course, I haven't really written anything out yet. But that would be the beginning. ;)

Dude, that's almost exactly what I do!

Except I've got a fish tank to stare at aimlessly.

At the moment, it fills like my life is...empty, at best. I know that God is the only thing that can fill that void, but I also know I need to be doing stuff. Job, stuff, whatever. Any advice?

Well, I haven't had much luck in the job department myself, as of late. In fact... within a long time. It's kind of depressing. >.>

Anyway... I suggest really just putting yourself out there. Get together a resume--even if you haven't had a "job" job, any work experience or volunteer work helps--and start sending it out to prospective employers. Often, employers don't so much want to see what you can, as much as they want to know that you're a hard worker who has past experience. You're, what, 18? Look around for jobs at grocery stores, restaurants or call centers. The former is relatively easy to secure. Restaurants will hire you because you can handle alcohol, and call centers... call centers are crazy boring, but they pay pretty well.

I don't know where you live, though... so if you live in the country, really disregard that, unless you're willing to drive. :P

Seriously, though... put together a resume. If you haven't done so before, get your mom or dad or someone else in the know to help you out with it; they should be willing. Also, make sure you look presentable if you're going to be going out looking for a job. You don't have to cut your long hair, but tie it back in a ponytail and make sure it looks pretty good. Employers look for someone who is dressed one level above what the level of dress is at the place you're looking to apply at; that means that if you apply at GameStop, don't go in wearing a suit, but an Oxford button up shirt, tucked in with dress pants, a belt matching your shoes, and pretty good shoes. If you're looking at retail, wear business casual: that is, a polo shirt, tucked into slacks and the belt and shoes.

In other words, the way you present yourself sells yourself to the employer. This is from resume to the way you dress to the interview process.

As for the interview itself... you've gotta show the prospective employer that YOU are the guy for the job. Maybe you aren't looking to make a career out of selling nuts and bolts, but YOU are the best one for the job and YOU are the solution to the guy's problems. Don't say that, definitely... but come off that way. Be enthusiastic and outgoing. Don't brag, but don't be afraid to tell of your accomplishments.

And... yeah. That should do ya. There are definitely other more detailed guides out there... but those are my tips. ;)

Another thing I'd really recommend is establishing a routine for yourself. This is something I've been working on, because when I don't have work and I don't have school, I tend to just kind of.... drift. Which isn't good, especially for me. I lose track of time and the days. It seriously feels like I just left Game Crazy, when that was over a year ago. Not. Good. So I'm trying to fix that.

And when I say establishing a routine, I mean anything. Say to yourself, "I'm going to play games for an hour, then go on a walk." This is the beginning of a routine, and it will start adding structure to your day, better enabling you to "do stuff." ;) And maybe you might decide to take a couple courses at your local college: it'll get you started and help you out for anything you're doing in the future. "Some College" looks better than "No College" on a job application. :)

Hope I helped.

That's really helpful. Thank you very much. ^_^ Building a resume will give me something to work on that I feel will actually accomplish something.

There's only so much satisfaction from slaying a fictional pixilated being. -_-

What exactly do you do in a call center?

I'm glad I did. :)

You can do a number of things in a call center. The most basic thing you can do is telemarket. It's not a pretty job, and I don't think you'd get much satisfaction from it, but it is money. I actually worked as a telemarketer for one whopping day before quitting. I couldn't do it. Just couldn't.

Another type of call center is a tech support center. I've done this, too, working for Dish Network. It's far more satisfying, but you're also expected to push and sell constantly, which is generally okay after you go through customer service training. ;)

Jane Austen. Hands down. XD

And... yeah. It might be epic. If I can get it off the ground. I've had some epic ideas before that just fizzle out and die, though, and that's simply because I can't figure out the ending or how to get there.

Ah. I think I... get that.

Also. Did you pull an all nighter? Weird time for you to be up. :P
