Final Fantasy XIII is going to be totally awesome and you want it more than any other game coming out?

:P
.....Actually, no. XD

Oh. XD

Hmm.

Game you're most anticipating?
Um.... let's see.

I'm really excited for The Saboteur. Also Batman: Arkham Asylum, The Beatles: Rock Band, BrĂ¼tal Legend, and, well, that's it.

Um... well, there's Head. He's more or less nu metal.

P.O.D. is nu metal, though I'd pretty strongly debate the idea that they're a Christian band.

PAX-217 was nu metal, as was early Kutless. And then you have stuff like Thousand Foot Krutch and Pillar (though I don't know about new Pillar).

Where did the term "nu-metal" come from, and what does it mean?

Uh... it probably came from some music magazine (no joke).

And what does it mean? Well... nu metal itself is a subgenre of heavy metal. It combines a lot of popular elements: the rap-rock of Rage Against the Machine, the industrial metal flourishes of Nine Inch Nails, Ministry and KMFDM, the thrash sound of bands like Metallica... and it combines those with a mix of screamed and clean vocals, which is taken from metalcore. But really, nu metal is a pretty broad genre. It encompasses bands as disparate as Slipknot and Linkin Park, Korn and Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock and Staind. There are stylistic similarities... but not much beyond that. The bands tend to differ on a ton of stuff, though by 2005 or so, their sound started to seem pretty generic. At least for me, that is.

So it's a genre, for things that cross genre's?

Would you ever want to be a game tester?

It's... sort of a genre for things that cross genres. It's more a lumping ground for music that fit under the term "alternative metal," but didn't really fall in place with any of the bands in that particular genre. So it's a subgenre of a subgenre, basically.

And... maybe. I think I'd end up getting sick of testing games for that much time. XD

That's very aggravating. I have no idea why.

I probably would too, but I like the idea of getting paid to play video games. :D

How do you deal with fear?

Wouldn't Disturbed be classified as nu-metal, also?

And Linkin Park is considered nu-metal? I never knew that. XD

A variety of ways. Ignoring it. Praying. Grappling with it.

Brown bears. Just because.

Yeah, Disturbed would be called nu metal. And yeah, Linkin Park is considered nu metal. ...Actually, it's kind of depressing. That band and Audioslave have both been bands that I've listened to since I was a freshman. That means almost ten years of both. XD

False. Black bear.

Fact. Bears eat beets.

Do you know where I'm going with this?

Which band have you been listening to for ten years? Disturbed or Linkin Park?

Oro has turned me onto Swedish unblack metal music. What do you think of it?

Unblack metal? Not really my style. I prefer hardcore, death metal, thrash metal, groove metal and sludge metal over that. Unblack metal... is just kind of a niche and bleh genre.

Uh. Linkin Park. XD

Disturbed I got into when I was fifteen or so, and bought an album when I was 17 or 18.
