It was calm, quiet and surprisingly relaxing. Two of my kids caught nasty colds and are still recovering, so we cancelled our plans to visit friends and relatives and just stayed home. They put together their Lego sets and we watched movies and snacked all day. It was nice and quiet, and we enjoyed it quite a bit.

How was yours?

Uh...well, busy, tense, and exhausting. XD I have a cold as well, and managed to contract it whilst in the middle of Christmas prep and landing. We had to--for reasons which make me want to make use of a dirty word library collected over 20 years of games and the Wal-Mart backroom--cook two separate meals on Christmas for two separate parties, which means we ended up opening our presents into the morning hours of the 26th, on which day we had to attend another party.

Essentially, I came home yesterday and slept for 12 hours, woke up exhausted and achy, and still sick. XD I did nothing today, and am considering maintaining the state into tomorrow.

Not a fan. I don't understand how a drink like that can leave my mouth feeling dry. Still, it's healthy stuff - provided you don't get the kind that's filled with other crap that you really don't need (e.g. high-fructose corn syrup, red dyes, etc...).

How about Grapefruit juice?

It's not too bad... especially if it's carbonated and says "Squirt" on the can.

... which pretty much throws out my argument about crap like high-fructose corn syrup, doesn't it?

There's nothing "natural" about it. ;)

Is that where they went? I've been looking for those! What are you doing with them?

I'm sorry, but you're not getting them back. It's scientifically impossible to pilot a space frigate without them. Plus, they were are a bit...expanded, since I wedged myself into them. They uh...they probably wouldn't be super tight on you anymore. The magic would be lost.

Why is it only hipster superheroes that wear cargo shorts?

... never mind. I don't want them back, anyway.

Because they have no sense of fashion. Everyone knows that superheroes should look like they're wearing Spandex underwear. It works for Superman, it works for Batman, it really works for Power Girl....

I have no comment. Interestingly, the Justice League cartoons changed her character into an evil clone of Supergirl who went around assassinating people. I did not know her under any other name than Galatea. XD

I've never played the game, but I've heard good things about it!

Definitely. Then again, I tend to hate advertising, especially on the 'net. That's why I use AdBlock. :)

I received a copy of Pandemic for Christmas, but I haven't managed to get a group together to play it yet. I'm hoping I'll be able to this weekend. Otherwise, I'm taping one of the player cards to my dog, and playing it with her. It's cooperative, so I think we would be fine.

When you get the newest book from your favorite author, and open it to find he hasn't gone off the rails crazy, and the book feels like home?

It's been a while since that's happened... but then again, it's been a while since I've had a favorite author. ;) Sadly, there have been a few books that I've tried from authors that I've liked that have led to disappointment. Such as Pat McManus. Great writer when it comes to outdoor humor... but not so much when it comes to mystery novels.
