Sounds like a good reason not to go back to that restaurant.
Then again some people like their food undercooked. Like with sushi, or beef tartare, or rare steaks... different strokes, I suppose.
Me, I've taken an invertebrate zoology class. I know what could be living in that undercooked meat. So I'll have it well done, please....

I'm OK with undercooked beef, and I would hesitantly eat chicken if I had no choice...but I think I'd rather starve than risk eating raw pork. O_o I still have nightmares of trichinosis images...

Halloween is probably my least favorite holiday (that and Valentine's Day, for entirely different reasons). It seems like a glorification of evil. As a result, I'm not terribly fond of anything Halloweeny, especially spooky stories intended to inspire fear or terror. If it weren't for the kids, I'd probably not do it at all.

I view spooky as entirely different than scary, or horror. I hate horror movies (except the ye olde ones), and fear in general, and I'm entirely with you there. I don't do horror, and I truly think all the violent horror movies and games created in society are not good for the head or heart.
Spooky, on the other hand--that I love. Spooky (in my world) is when there's a frightening atmosphere, a terrible monster, but the ending is happy, the evil monster is defeated, and everyone walks away pretty much unharmed. Scooby Doo, or the Nightmare Before Christmas. Alan Wake, even. Lot's of kid's books and such.
What about the true meaning of Halloween? Surely you appreciate that. <3

What would that be, then? Encouraging kids to put on disguises and wander around the neighborhood begging for candy? And making threats if they don't get it? I'm not terribly fond of that aspect, either!
I know that the holiday started out originally as a remembrance for the deceased, and some countries still hold to that tradition. But that doesn't seem to be the case in the U.S. any more.

Nah; that's propaganda. The true meaning of Halloween stems back to ancient Viking times, in which the Vikings would busy themselves in the month of October by storing up food for winter. But they often made too much, and would have to sell it at a discount to get it out of their storerooms before it spoiled. Sometimes, they even sold last years wares, to some complaint.
Nevertheless, it was a village-wide event. Everyone would open their shops and place large bins in the front to offer their products at a discount (sometimes as much as 75% off!). The date they set for this event was November first, because winter comes early in the lands of the Vikings.
Thus, though it has been modified through the years, and the night before receives the most attention, Most Holy Candy Discount Day was born. <3 And lo, joy was available at discount prices for all. It's the one holiday retailers celebrate without any controversy, and frankly, one of my favorites.
Though personally, I see nothing wrong with begging for candy. if I was a few feet shorter, I'd probably pass myself off as a kid and trick or treat myself. >_>
Best flavor of potato chips?

Hmm... I'm thinking history may not be your strong point.

That's OK - it isn't mine, either!

There are a lot of tasty varieties out there. Barbecue is always a good stand-by, but I like sour cream and cheddar, too.

Hey, if progressives can rewrite history to suit their purposes, why not me?

I hate it when that happens.
"Oh look! There's that thing I've been wanting on Amazon for half price! All I have to do is wait until payday to get it... when the sale is over.

I found a game on sale the other day, and by the time I had decided to buy it (a matter of six hours) it had gone off sale. @_@
Now it's back on sale, and I realize it doesn't run on Linux. So...for the best.

Of course! Especially boiled eggs.
Then again, freshly ground pepper is pretty good on nearly anything....

If it doesn't run on Linux, then it probably isn't worth playing, anyway. (At least that's what I keep telling myself when I find a game that doesn't run on a Mac.

So far, the only possible exception I've found might be Skyrim.)

If you mean like puffy Chee-Tos, then no. Those things are disgusting. Crispy, but then tastes like some sort of weird paste in your mouth afterwards. Yuck.
Woiv wrote:Fruit Snacks?
Depends on the fruit snacks. Some aren't too bad (Mott's, or other varieties that don't have artificial colors), and some are just nasty. When you get right down to it, a lot of times I'd prefer the actual fruit.

Well, I thought about coming up with a plan for this year's NaNo, but alas, I could not. My time has been running far too short of late, and I didn't have any inspirations that screamed "Yes! Write that!"
So I guess I'll be flying by the seat of my pants.
Got a plan laid out (I know you have some idea of what you want to do), or are you planning to wing a fair amount of it?

"No Tux, no Bux" as the saying goes...I probably would've bent the rule for Legend of Grimrock II, though. I love me some classic dungeon crawl.
When did Christmas become 51 days away? O_o
