Often, one of the first things I'll do with a word processing program is to turn this off! Years ago, while writing a D&D adventure, it kept wanting to change the word "illithid" (another word for a mind flayer) to "ill ith id." No idea why it thought "ith" was a word, but it kept doing that no matter how many times I tried to change it back to the correct form.

If you're talking about the cooking appliance, they can be useful. However, they have their drawbacks, too. I read an article years ago about an interesting experiment with water. Scientists took some plants, and with one batch they watered with tap water, and the other they watered with water that had been microwaved for a minute, then left to cool to room temperature. The plants that were watered with the microwaved water grew at half the rate of the ones that just received normal tap water.

People believe that microwaving food can take some of the nutritional elements out of it, and I'm inclined to believe it. We do have a microwave in our house, but it's starting to go out, and I don't think we should replace it. We should be using our toaster oven more.

I would have to say that the worst thing about Mario is his fashion sense. His brother is so much better in that regard....

Hmm... 100 years ago we didn't have video games. And 100 years ago, the first World War was under way, and there was a world pandemic with influenza (equivalent to swine flu or bird flu) that resulted in the death of millions. So definitely now. :)

I live in Idaho and you're asking me if I like potato chips? Is this some sort of veiled insult?

I don't mind them, actually. I prefer the wavy ones, or Ruffles, and with some sort of flavoring. Barbecue can be good, but sour cream and cheddar is really nice.

Lays has been doing a "choose your flavor" contest for the past two or three years, too. That can be a fun way to explore new tastes as well!

Hmm, tough question. Potatoes are so versatile, they can be used almost anywhere.

I'm leaning towards shepherd's pie, though. The kind with the mashed potatoes that serves as the upper crust of the pie. Although hearty beef stew is a good choice, too.
