You get purple fizzy water that tastes like dye.

You were telling him about Buddha, you were telling him about Mohammed in the same breath. You never mentioned one time the Man who came and died a criminal’s death...

Well... you'd have to pour it, first. And then... all life would end as we know it. That doesn't mean that we die. It might just mean that we become horribly mutated monstrosities. You know, like Michael Richards.

Huh. You know... I really don't know. It might have to do with my general awesomeness. ;) No, seriously, I don't know.

Interesting. Is that to imply that I'm part of a dying breed or that you really just don't get my politics? ;)
Chozon1 wrote:Why people think snakes are slimy? And why do some people deny the existence of that which they do not understand?
Wow. Multitiered question. Good job. ;)

Snakes look slimy. They aren't, but they look slimy. And people like to judge on what they see. Or, at least they're comfortable judging on what they see. So, the sliminess is perceived and everyone grosses out.

People deny that which they do not understand because it's in human nature, just like it's in human nature to need to have belief, or love. That which is inexplicable must have a logical explanation; how else could have happened? So everything must be explained, even if we do not understand what we're explaining. It's landed us in sticky situations before. Look at Galileo.

What would happen if I stood before congress and laughed at all political parties for their utter failure on all sides?

What, in your opinion, is the consequence and blessing for following the Benedictine rule in true faithfulness?

My avatar is a worm... thing. I've thought about changing it... but it's so wormy. I can't help it. ;)

And more than one question mark is due to SOMEONE holding down the button for way too long.

You'd be laughed out of the room for your lack of realization that it isn't a total failure of the parties, but instead a failure of the system of checks and balances, coupled with the electoral college putting nincompoops in office.

I think that the benefits are plenty, considering that the Benedict monks are well known for their peacefulness. I'd also say that following such a code ensures that you live your life in order, as opposed to the chaos that my life is in all the time. ;) :P

Have you ever seen a llama kiss a llama on the llama?

Also, have you ever used any Hori arcade sticks (or, at the least, had any pass through your hands)?

Erm. Depends on... where the llama is. So, no. ;)

And yeah, I've had some Hori arcade sticks pass through my hands. Never used one, since I've never been much for arcade sticks. But... I hear that they're good. ;)

I challenge thy correctness!

*lightning strikes*

If political parties worked the way they said they would, then would any system matter but one of honor? If every party is based on doing what is best for the country, as they claim they are, then why does every party think that they, and they alone can fix the U.S? Is there no honor among thieves?

If you look a monkey in the eye, what will happen?

The thing about political systems is that they organize thought--that is, a way of thinking--into a concise collective of thinking. Political theory is just that--theory. There is no way that a political system will ever work the way that one would want it to. That's why it's theory. To a certain extent, it's possible to predict human behavior... after that, though, it becomes impossible, because while a man can be rational, humans en masse are irrational, and tend to use group think. Political theory groups its ideas into a setting that is ideal for those conditions. For example, communist theory. Karl Marx suggested that the proletariats (the poor) would overthrow the bourgeoisie, and through that, dispense of the capitalist system. When put in practice, this idea worked quite well, but different interpretations of that theory, as well as practical application (people tend to flock to a leader or a group of leaders, there can be no collective), plus a host of other factors, proved that communist theory is not something that can be implemented well, no matter how well the revolution might go. And even China has had to make do with "free trade zones" to survive.

As for what the individual parties believe, I'm not sure that the more moderates believe that they alone can fix the country. Let's face it, we may disagree in political ideology, but we're in this together. Most politicians realize that, I think, even if you don't believe that their intentions are the best.

As for honor among thieves... what do you think?

And if you look a monkey in the eye, you get to dance, so you must look at your pants.
