This vote's looking pretty unanimous.

Looks like I'm reading the Hobbit.

Albeit, I haven't read the Lord of the Rings series, like, at all. Is this the best place to start?

I'd say yes. It's a lighter read, so a better introductory piece, and is chronologically before LOTR. It provides some insight into what's going to happen later, so yes.

Plus, it shouldn't take you very long to read, unlike LOTR.

At least, I can finish up The Hobbit far before I could finish the whole LOTR novel.

The Hobbit. Definitely The Hobbit.

I wouldn't wish The Great Gatsby on my worst enemies. I hated that book....

Don't bother with the book, just play the game, instead.

Read The Hobbit. Then ditch Great Gatsby and read The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn instead.

You should read The Hobbit. It is a really good book. I haven't read the Great Gaspy yet, but The Hobbit is a good 'adventurous' book
