And your lack of experience with Clint Eastwood saddens me.

I'm tempted to send you a copy of The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. No joke.
Ever been out of state? If so, where?
lol, I didn't really know what they were. Though they sounded good.
Yeah, my movie knowledge is so pathetic. It's sad.
Do need to see The Good, The Bad and The Ugly though. I hear good things. o.o
Aaand, yeah. But only to Ohio (right below MI <_<) and Massachusetts/Boston area (where I was born). That's... it though.
I do need to get out and see the country, man. I really want to. o.o

Why feel terrible? It's awesome he's getting better.
And... AC fan? As in air conditioner? I thought it was cold at your place!?
/isn't sure what you're talking about
Also, what humidity gauge are you using? The dial ones are almost as worthless as the dial temp gauges... I don't trust them.
And if you're using a lamp all the time... and the temps are right... I just honestly don't get why he'd have a RI. Did he ever foam at the nose or mouth? That's the biggest dead giveaway for a RI.
Actually, no. I'm no scholar. I figured he eated bugz.
Too, even when it's cold, I turn on my Air conditioner fan. It doesn't bring in outside air or anything, just circulates the air already inside my room.
I'm using a strip humidity gauge. I'm not entirely sure it's accurate to the exact percentage, but I figure it's better than nothing. Only cost me two bucks.
Also, no foaming, drooling or any liquid coming from nose mouth. Only the open mouthed breathing, swelling, and clicking.
Too, the swelling seems to be coming back. He's still alert and scooching (not to mention he actually gripped my hand when I looked at him earlier). I managed to get a decent picture of him:
He look OK? It's the part of him near my ring finger I'm worried about.
The part near my thumb is adorable. <3
If he'd eaten, I'd think it was fine. but he hasn't. I'm going to try and feed him today though.
Ah. Yeah, he doesn't look too bad there, really. I can see the puffiness I think (if it's near the ring finger like you said), but to me... it looks like he's got a meal in there, or is just inhaling. Is the swelling constant, or does he just puff up for a few seconds and then... go back to normal?
When was the last time he ate? I'm assuming not for a while, since he skipped a meal.
Strider wrote:Do you collect anything?

Uhh.
Besides snakes? XD
Well, some games. I like to collect them when I have the money. CDs a little bit, though not as much as many people do.
I also love to collect guns, though that's... expensive. I haven't bought one in a while because of that (last one I bought was just shy of $500, which is a bit of cash for me. it's a beauty though o.o).
I can't think of much else. XD

The swelling may/may not be constant. It's there every time I see him, but the unfortunate fact is, every time I see him, I'm around him. XD But I'm fairly sure it's there all the time.
It's been 8 days now since he last ate. I was going to feed him yesterday, but with the swelling back, I wasn't sure if he wanted to eat.
I hate to keep bugging you with questions like this. But I thank ye for helping. <3
Bookery?

Absolutely epic. My grandfather has/had one last I heard. I have yet to shoot it (he's over 1000 miles away >_<), but he mentioned bringing it out here if he visits.

Ah.
Well, I'd try feeding him. If he doesn't eat, then that's his choice; but at least you tried.
And it's not a bother. I like to help when I can, and always feel free to ask anything. ^_^

JRPGs. Followed by regular old RPGs (western as well).
Um, yeah. Pretty much anything RPG in the end.
XD
I like a shooter once in a while, but really... I grow tired of them far faster than I do other games (with the possible exceptions of Gears and CoD <_<).
lulz, yeah.
Aaand.

More oddness.
Jayne didna eat, he struck at it, but didn't grab on to it. I left it in the cage overnight, and he just curled into a circle around it. It would have been a cute picture if the mouse wasn't dead. XD
The oddness is, I turned off his lamp and just let the heat go yesterday, and Jayne decided to curl up in the middle of the cage (approximately mid 60's in temp). Not only did his swelling go down, but he seemed more alert.
I'm utterly confused. I've got the light back on now as that was too cold, but I don't know where to go from here.
Could it be something to do with the light? I know pit vipers and some Pythons can actually "see" infrared. I'm not sure if corns can, but if they could, and it's on 24/7, that could be bothering him. Another factor could be that only one centralized area of his cage is warm. That would be the area over the heat mat. Should I order the 10G size from Rep. Supply and just keep it on the thermo?
But it looks like he is getting to hot. It doesn't help that our weather is all buggery. A week ago, we had Spring temps. Now it's snowing. XD

Yeaaaaah, tell me about the weather. This time of year (winter) it's a pain to heat a snake cage right. It really is. XD
But I honestly am not sure what's up. I have heard of some guys having trouble with those infrared lamps because the snake can see them and are bothered by 'em (actually, I believe every snake
can detect something; whether or not they're bothered I guess depends on the snake). I am using infrared on both boas and the ball. I use these on the king and corn cages:
http://www.reptilesupply.com/product.php?products_id=41
They work well enough, and are cheap. The bad thing is... they die pretty fast. I usually get less than a month/a month of use out of them.
But my corn and king cages are sitting directly on top of the boa's cage, and they are fairly lit up by the 150 watt infrared bulb I'm using for that big guy. They don't seem to be bothered... but then again, every snake is different.
Sooo. You want my advice? Buy either one of those cheap bulbs (but be prepared for them to... die... fairly fast)... or maybe... just maybe a ceramic heat emitter.
This one:
http://www.reptilesupply.com/product.ph ... cts_id=228
I've never used one on a 10G, but that's only a 60 watt... and not to mention you've got the thermostat, so that will certainly help. If you get one of those (they last five or more years, and are totally freaking worth the price, but have a few cons that I think I told you about)... keep an eye on the humidity. A GOOD eye. O.O
As I told you, they dry out the air pretty easily and get extremely hot. But hey... you've got the thermo and a humidity gauge, so I think you'd be good.
Not to mention they last five+ years. And emit no light whatsoever (read: NONE. they worked great for my first ball python, even though I had to keep the humidity up, because he was bothered by almost any light).
I hope this makes sense.
In the end, I'm recommending switching to a different bulb as every single snake is different. No joke, it's possible that Jayne is just bothered by the bright red light.
Also, if he seemed better in the cooler temps... try lowering the temps by five degrees or so. It is winter time, and many snakes seem to do better with the temps a bit lower at that time.

What luck: I have that light bulb in my possession. XD
That's the one I had on when he got too cold.
Which another thing...how the schnap am I suppose to find a balance between not eating because (assuming) he's too hot, and barfing because he's too cold?

I knoooow. It's so tough. -_-
I would just put that light bulb on and stick with that. Put the infrared one away, as I'm reading now... and some snakes are seriously phased by it. Like, stop eating and whatnot. Some aren't. Like my boas... they're not bothered whatsoever. Just don't give a crap. XD
But yeah. Switch out the infrared light to that moonlight bulb and see how he does. It's what I'm using on my corn right now like I said, and there's been no trouble.
It's epic that you have one of those on hand, though.

Hmm...Hopefully, that will fix him.

Hmm...I seriously hope that's it. Those bulbs are cheaper. Plus, it would mean Jayne get's better. I'll have to monitor the temp more though. Plus, it's prettier.
Splinter Cell?

I guess prettier would be the right word. I do know that I'm not a fan of the infrared bulbs myself and like the moonlight ones better, because dude... with two 75s and a 150 surrounding my room... well, I haven't been sleeping well these days. -_-
I just can't wait until warm weather, where all you need is a heat mat. XD
But the moonlight bulbs are much less bright, and I think they will help. Keep me updated, please.
Aaaaaand do like. I want Conviction badly when it's released, but will probably hold off until I've got more money.
CT and DA were very good, as were PT and the first one. ^_o
