AVP- for the first time. It's pretty much the perfect movie to watch while you are drawing, because there is no plot to concentrate on following, and you can just look up whenever a cool fight happens.

Troy- it was a free movie from buying an HD player in Nov (I know, I know)

a lot of female frontal nudity and very violent.

Huh, I must've watched the "cleaned up" TV version.

Then again, I only saw the first five minutes before Brad Pitt drove me away. He just didn't capture the essence of it all. Blech.

So epic. Band of Brothers is the thing that got me interested in the History Channel. Woot.

Anyway, I just finished Carlito's Way. Of the Brian De Palma films I've seen, I'm going to say that Carlito's Way is my favorite. Even with the knowing how the story ends at the beginning of the movie, I felt sad in the final moments. There's some nudity (I'm going to guess that the time where it is seen in the foreground is probably in the two-minute range in a 2:20ish movie), and a bit of profanity (though it doesn't even come close to the other De Palma/Pacino movie, Scarface), but it actually seems necessary to get the full effect of the story and characters. The acting is phenomenal. The character development... painful (in a good way). Overall plot, great. Production qualities, excellent. Moral content not withstanding, I rate the film: A-

No Reservations

It started off really well, and for a while I thought it was going to be one of my favorite movies of the year. But then half way through the film lost its touch and I stopped smiling all the time. It changed from a really sweet, beautiful story to a typical romantic comedy. Still, the film pleasantly surprised me.

Once again, we agree. :D

A wee bittie bit of Troy. I only saw a little, so I didn't see any of the bad shtuffs.

The Kingdom

Most of the comments I've heard have been fairly average, but I thought it was a great movie. The action was great, the acting was pretty good, and I liked the story. Not one of my very very top favorites, but I definitely liked it.

Hmm... Good point. I think that this moment is worthy of a facepalm. *facepalm*

I just finished Kung Fu Hustle with a couple of guys. This film is really hard for me to comment on. It's one of my favorites because of its sense of style, humor, and general kick-buttery. Still, honestly, it's not the greatest movie ever. It does what it sets out to do. I... give it... a B.

I saw that movie when I was 13 and I was bored out of my mind.

Oh...and by the way, it's his sled. It's the name of his sled from when he was a kid. There. That'll save you all three hours.

Snatch. If there was a perfect movie out there, this would be it. It has all the elements of a perfect movie. Funny, Action-packed and it has an amazing musical score. I can't remember the last movie as good as this. All right, now unto specifics.

The way the movie is shot is simply amazing, there are different camera angles and shots, interesting effects. The camera work is great as well.

The story is great, definately a well thoughtout story, with many many laughs. I can't think of a funnier movie.

The music is nothing short of amazing. The whole song list is:

Disco Science by Mirwaus

Golden Brown by The Stranglers

A song by Oasis (was the comment on how awesome this song name necessary? -CCGR)

As for content wise, it's horrible. Constant swearing. As well as fairly bad violence. People get shot, stabbed, suffocated, set on fire, etc. There's also a random placed nude scene with hookers who are topless. There's also a scene in which Turkish and Tommy play with porno styled playing cards with nude women on each card.

All in all a great movie if you can ignore the barrage of bad content. A must see, definitely one of the best movies I have ever seen.

A+

Thanks for the content review.

The Godfather Part 1.

I've heard that this is supposed to be the movie to end all movies. It's not going on my top five, but it's definitely a fantastic film. Some of the best directing I've seen in a long time, great acting, an enthralling story...all good stuff. It for some reason reminded me a bit of American Gangster.

And that's Al Pacino?

Anytime.

You should see the movie, by the way. Unless you're put off by the content. It really is an amazing movie. There really isn't anything in the movie I can complain about.
