They are more dangerous than the sane Russian hackers because they're unpredictable.Emwok wrote:Crazy Russian hackers?
Huh. I'll keep you guys in prayer. Scary stuff.Sstavix wrote:Maybe. They still need to take more tests. They've ruled out some of the more common causes that could cause spikes in blood pressure (e.g. heart disease, diabetes, adrenal issues, all those sorts of tests came back perfectly clean). So they want to do some more tests to see if it's something more rare. My wife is in pretty good health except for this, and its got some of the doctors puzzled.
So she's taking it easy for now. My daughters should be taking care of her while I'm at work (I told them to), but my wife has the telephone and her Kindle tablet close by in case she needs to contact me.
My methodology is simple - whatever my wife wants to do is fine by me.Chozon1 wrote:
To brine, or not to brine: Your methodology on turkey?
Cooking is a great skill to have.Chozon1 wrote:Nice. I take after my mom, and I'm fairly good at cooking. Brining a turkey does indeed mean to soak it in salty fluid. It's not just water though; it's composed of salt, herbs, spices and various juices or other liquids (I've used Dr. Pepper before) added to water, and soaking the turkey in it for several days before cooking. It preseasons the meat by osmosis, loading the cell walls with salt and flavorings. In some arcane way, it also keep the meat more tender. Something to do with the salt in the cell walls instead of regular water preventing them from being damaged as fast.
They aren't bad, but I would prefer my cream pies to be chocolate.Chozon1 wrote:Coconut cream pie?
That can be an effective way to get ahead, really. Staying ahead is another case....Chozon1 wrote:I'm a pro at sounding like I know what I'm doing. Actually knowing on the other hand...
Amusing, but I'm not sure why they decided to make an entire movie about them. But then again, I haven't seen it yet, so....Chozon1 wrote:Minions?
That was a big concern of mine when trying to choose a laptop as well. I may have gotten used to it, though. At least you can always plug in a full-sized keyboard via USB and use that instead.Deepfreeze32 wrote:Laptop keyboards are difficult type on?
I managed to make some decent progress on NaNo today, but not as much as I would have liked due to my MacBook keyboard being cramped. Not so much a Mac thing as it is a laptop thing, though. I love my ergonomic, and sadly-too-bulky mechanical keyboard for writing, and felt sorely constrained this week.
That's when you stick with on-line retailers who have planned their Cyber Mondays for a while.Chozon1 wrote:Yeah, but sometimes I feel like Cyber Monday is just retailers going, "Hey, what junk do we have leftover that didn't sell Black Friday? OK, good. Bob, throw an ad together". *_*
That's practically a Christmas tradition any more, isn't it? Especially with flicks like "A Christmas Story" and "Elf."Chozon1 wrote:Cheesy Christmas movies?
It depends on what we're talking about. A screwdriver or glass? Replace, easily. A computer or a car? Better to go the repair route.Chozon1 wrote: Repair, or replace?
