Incredibly intense, great acting, beautiful monster design. Loved it. Much better than I thought it would be. It is most definitely not something you can recreate at home with your DVD player. And to jump on the bandwagon... A+
I beg to differ we have a 7.2 THX2 surround sound, 126" wall we project to and have HD and Blu Ray...I'm sure it'll look fine for us.
Well, it's crawled up from third place, past Jakob the Liar and Dear Frankie, and is now my first favorite.
I cried the most I've ever cried at a movie during the ending.
Makes me feel like throwing on a kilt and running around the streets screaming "FREEEEEEEEDOOOOOOOOM!" Um. Not really.
You cried...?
Seriously?
You got a problem with that, punk? Aye, that I did. There's no rule against men crying, now is there?
Cloverfield

Yeah some guys can only dream to be a true ladies man, and be brave enough to let their emotions show, and to stray from the average mindset and opinion of men! haha But seriously, more guys should just be real. More people should just be real. Anyway....
CLOVERFIELD!!!! Was real! I think it depicted what would truly go on in this sort of situation. Though the monster's origin was believable, I wish that they had done a short scene in the army's base of scientifically explaining it - that would've been great, they could've even backed it up with paralleling it to that African frog that mostly live under-water and that carries it eggs in it's back, until one by one the babies come out! It would have been awesome....anyway! Spectacular movie, one of my favorites! May be similar to The Blairel (sp?) Witch Project, but it was truly fitting, and they were able to have hardly any really bad cuss words except one time they used Jesus' name
National Treasure: Book of Secrets--Bland action movie that was pretty good for what it was. C+
3:10 to Yuma--Second time I've seen this, but I'm continually impressed by both Russel Crowe and Christian Bale. Both deliver amazing performances. B+
Life of Brian--Why did I watch this? Oh, that's right... I needed to laugh. Pretty funny, but not on the level of Monty Python and the Holy Grail or anything. And it's about ten times more sacrilegious. B
Se7en--Just bought this movie, and I've gotta say: on second viewing, the movie is still as captivating as it was the first time I saw it. A
Life of Brian wasn't sacrilegious. They just mistook Brian for Jesus. What's to get fired up over?
Last one I saw was An Inconvenient Truth. F--. Boring propaganda and lies.
Heh, true. I've seen that one, it's funny, the mass crucifictions with the "Always Look on the Bright Side of Life" was great.
Also, the part where the guy wanted to have a baby was awesome.
"Where's it gonna gestate? What're you gonna do, keep it in a box for 9 months?!"
esophagus wrote:I have never read the Eragon book. In addition, the Eragon movie is way better than The Golden Compass, which sucked harder than anything else I have seen this year. True, Eragon wasn't good, but it was better than Golden Compass.
Wow. Golden Compass had to have been pretty bad, then. I'm glad I decided not to watch it. Really, the only redeeming factor of the Eragon movie was Jeremy Irons as Brom; he was perfect for the role. And Roran was pretty good too.
Last night I watched Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl for the 132485727459th time. And only Jack Sparrow merits the number of times I've seen it.
