Ah. Well, I would... but considering I don't have it...
Great game though, eh?
Ah.
Totally.
Dude... we're getting RE5 from Gamefly. It should be here tomorrow (Sat) or Monday. I don't have a LIVE account, but I s'pose I could get one.
?
Ah.
Well, co-op on that game is amazing. The AI is decent, but a human player makes the game much more fun.
And yeah, a Live account is pretty fun. I'd renew mine, but considering I can't use it at home (no high speed)... yeah. XD
Chozon1 wrote:Went ahead and took him to the vet. He didn't give me a "Dis is whutz wrong--fix it" but he helped a bit. Checked his wizzy for protozoans, and found none. Couldn't do a bacterial or worm check because Jayne had no poo.
He also said that raising a baby corn is a tough job, and that a percentage of them just didn't make it too adulthood. And that 90% of snake problems arise from an improper habitat. I'm thinking, since Jayne has actually fed (breeder fed him more than once, and I fed him once) that I caused the problem by letting him be cold when I fed him. I'm not happy about that, but I can fix it at the least. I'm thinking to get him a ceramic heater.
I don't quite think he knew that Jayne wasn't a VERY young hatchling, though...he suggested that, instead of pinks, trying to give him worms or crickets. XD Then he found out he'd already fed.
Actually, it was cool. At first, he assumed I was one of those "Buy a snake because it's goth, and not know how to take care of it" jerkweeds, and treated me like I was one, then he found out I actually knew what I was doing a bit, and was like, "Cool man--here's what I suggest". ^_^
Sadly, he told me a combination of what you and Eric did, but charged $40 bucks. XD Oh well, I got a protozoa test, at least. And the knowledge that the black spot was what I thought it was: one of his organs. Odd side effect of amel's...Likely, his gall bladder.
Yay for fun?
Ah. Well... at least you know for sure now. XD
As for young corns being tough to raise... well, as a pet? Maybe, I guess. As a snake? No freaking way. They're the easiest snake on the planet to care for besides maybe a garter, imo. XD
But that's just me being "politically correct", or whatever. >_<
And yeah, worms or crickets... hahahahaha. Yeah, glad you told the vet that he'd been eating... because you don't wanna go on those with a snake that can and has eaten pinks. They're just... not nearly as "good" for a snake, don't have all the proteins and stuffz. XD
So yes... I'm thinking just raising the temp would be a great thing, and it'll probably cure all the problems. Is the heat mat on 24/7 atm?
Also, a word of caution: be careful with those thar ceramic heaters. They're fantastic, don't get me wrong. I've used them, and yes they last forever (well, 5-10 years)... but man. They get
hot, and dry out the air in the blink of an eye. Which can cause shedding problems, which is never fun. And... that was using them with large cages. I'd never ever use one with a 10 gal. I'd be too scared. o.o
Another small detail with them... is that they don't really "downput" heat. They just kinda... give it off, but don't make a basking spot in the same way a basking bulb does. It's also why it ruled out using one in my boa's cage... sure, maybe they'd get hot enough... but the heat wouldn't travel down three feet to where the boa is. XD
I haven't ever used one with a corn/small tank, though (as I said, only my large cages... and also only with boas/pythons)... so maybe it'd work as corn's don't need as high of humidity as a boa/python, usually... But eh, I'd still be very careful and without a doubt use a thermo. (these things seriously... get hot. hotter than any light bulb. and even worse, dry out the air badly. misting might be mandatory if you decide to use one)
I just don't know what they'd do in a 10 gallon (smallest tank I used them in was a 30GL, and I had to put a hook in the wall and raise the heater by five inches to let some heat escape XD), but if you think you need one... then well, your choice. XD
Say, what wattage do you use for bulbs?
Here's what I'd suggest:

Those infrared bulbs... are awesome. I've got a 150 watt in my boa's cage atm, and I think it's
too hot (boa's always in the cool end/water dish). And you've seen that cage, it's huge.
Anyway, I've used them for years and love them. They certainly last a long while and are hotter than reg. bulbs (plus the infrared is supposed to warm the snake from the inside... and I think that's right, as my guys seem to do best with them).
I just ordered three of them in my reptile supply order (two 75s for smaller cages and one 150 for the boa, as a spare), so yeah. I love them.
But hey, you do what you think is best. I'm just sharing my experiences/advice.
I just caution you to be careful with a ceramic heater in a 10 gal. They're fantastic... but insanely hot/dry.
Anyway, sorry you wasted money on the vet. But hey, at least you know for sure what's wrong. And that the black thing is an organ, not something bad.
That is strange though, being able to see a snake's organ. Guess it's just the genetics, like you said. XD
